We study holographic superconductors in the Schwarzschild-AdS black hole with a global monopole through a charged complex scalar field. We calculate the condensates of the charged operators in the dual conformal field theories (CFTs) and discuss the effects of the global monopole on the condensation formation. Moreover, we compute the electric conductive using the probe approximation and find that the properties of the conductive are quite similar to those in the Schwarzschild-AdS black hole. These results can help us know more about holographic superconductors in the asymptotic AdS black holes.

We generalize our previous studies on the Maxwell quasinormal modes around Schwarzschild-anti-de-Sitter black holes with Robin type vanishing energy flux boundary conditions, by adding a global monopole on the background. We first formulate the Maxwe ll equations both in the Regge-Wheeler-Zerilli and in the Teukolsky formalisms and derive, based on the vanishing energy flux principle, two boundary conditions in each formalism. The Maxwell equations are then solved analytically in pure anti-de Sitter spacetimes with a global monopole, and two different normal modes are obtained due to the existence of the monopole parameter. In the small black hole and low frequency approximations, the Maxwell quasinormal modes are solved perturbatively on top of normal modes by using an asymptotic matching method, while beyond the aforementioned approximation, the Maxwell quasinormal modes are obtained numerically. We analyze the Maxwell quasinormal spectrum by varying the angular momentum quantum number $ell$, the overtone number $N$, and in particular, the monopole parameter $8pieta^2$. We show explicitly, through calculating quasinormal frequencies with both boundary conditions, that the global monopole produces the repulsive force.
If general relativity is spontaneously induced, the black hole limit is governed by a phase transition which occurs precisely at the would have been horizon. The exterior Schwarzschild solution then connects with a novel core of vanishing spatial vol ume. The Kruskal structure, admitting the exact Hawking imaginary time periodicity, is recovered, with the conic defect defused at the origin, rather than at the horizon. The entropy stored inside textbf{any} interior sphere is universal, equal to a quarter of its surface area, thus locally saturating the t Hooft-Susskind holographic bound. The associated Komar mass and material energy functions are non-singular.

We study a false vacuum decay in a two-dimensional black hole spacetime background. The decay rate in the case that nucleation site locates at a black hole center has been calculated in the literature. We develop a method for calculating the decay ra te of the false vacuum for a generic nucleation site. We find that the decay rate becomes larger when the nucleation site is close to the black hole horizon and coincides with that in Minkowski spacetime when the nucleation site goes to infinity.
We investigate the strong gravitational lensing in a Kaluza-Klein black hole with squashed horizons. We find the size of the extra dimension imprints in the radius of the photon sphere, the deflection angle, the angular position and magnification of the relativistic images. Supposing that the gravitational field of the supermassive central object of the Galaxy can be described by this metric, we estimated the numerical values of the coefficients and observables for gravitational lensing in the strong field limit.
The superradiant instability of rotating black holes with negative cosmological constant is studied by numerically solving the full 3+1-dimensional Einstein equations. We find evidence for an epoch dominated by a solution with a single helical Killin g vector and a multi-stage process with distinct superradiant instabilities.
