We recently derived an explicit expression for the gluon distribution function G(x, Q^2) = xg(x, Q^2) in terms of the proton structure function F_2^{gamma p} (x, Q^2) in leading-order (LO) QCD by solving the the LO DGLAP equation for the Q^2 evolution of F_2^{gamma p} (x, Q^2) analytically, using a differential-equation method. We re-derive and extend the results here using a Laplace-transform technique, and show that the singlet quark structure function F_S(x,Q^2) can be determined directly in terms of G from the DGLAP gluon evolution equation. To illustrate the method and check the consistency of existing LO quark and gluon distributions, we used the published values of the LO quark distributions from the CTEQ5L and MRST2001LO analyses to form F_2^{gamma p} (x, Q^2), and then solved analytically for G(x,Q^2). We find that the analytic and fitted gluon distributions from MRST2001LO agree well with each other for all x and Q^2, while those from CTEQ5L differ significantly from each other for large x values, x>~0.03 - 0.05 at all Q^2. We conclude that the published CTEQ5L distributions are incompatible in this region. Using a non-singlet evolution equation, we obtain a sensitive test of quark distributions which holds in both LO and NLO perturbative QCD. We find in either case that the CTEQ5 quark distributions satisfy the tests numerically for small x, but fail the tests for x>~0.03 - 0.05 - their use could potentially lead to significant shifts in predictions of quantities sensitive to large x. We encountered no problems with the MRST2001LO distributions or later CTEQ distributions. We suggest caution in the use of the CTEQ5 distributions.

The QCD evolution of both unpolarized and polarized generalized parton distributions (GPDs) to next-to-leading order (NLO) accuracy is presented, in both the DGLAP and ERBL regions, for two appropriately symmetrized input distributions based on conve ntional parton density functions. To illustrate the relative size of the NLO corrections a comparison is made with leading order evolution of the same distributions. For the first time, NLO results are given for both small and large values of the skewedness parameter, $zeta = x_{bj}$, i.e. for all of the kinematic range relevant to HERA and HERMES.
We derive a new method for initial-state collinear showering in Monte-Carlo event generators which is based on the use of unintegrated parton correlation functions. Combined with a previously derived method for final-state showering, the method solve s the problem of treating both the hard scattering and the evolution kernels to be used in arbitrarily non-leading order. Although we only treat collinear showering, so that further extensions are needed for QCD, we have discovered several new results: (1) It is better to generate exact parton kinematics in the hard scattering rather than with the subsequent parton showering, and similarly at each step of the showering. (2) Parton showering is then done conditionally on the exact energy-momentum of the initiating parton. (3) We obtain a factorization for structure functions in terms of parton correlation functions so that parton kinematics can be treated exactly from the beginning. (4) We obtain two factorization properties for parton correlation functions, one in terms of ordinary parton densities and one, suitable for event generation, in terms of parton correlation functions themselves.

It has been revealed from the path-integral formulation of the hadronic tensor that there are connected sea and disconnected sea partons. The former is responsible for the Gottfried sum rule violation primarily and evolves the same way as the valence . Therefore, the DGLAP evolution equations can be extended to accommodate them separately. We discuss its consequences and implications vis-a-vis lattice calculations.
We present a fully automated framework based on the FeynRules and MadGraph5 aMC@NLO programs that allows for accurate simulations of supersymmetric QCD processes at the LHC. Starting directly from a model Lagrangian that features squark and gluino in teractions, event generation is achieved at the next-to-leading order in QCD, matching short-distance events to parton showers and including the subsequent decay of the produced supersymmetric particles. As an application, we study the impact of higher-order corrections in gluino pair-production in a simplified benchmark scenario inspired by current gluino LHC searches.

We studied the effects of NLO $Q^2$ evolution of generalized parton distributions (GPDs) using the aligned-jet model for the singlet quark and gluon GPDs at an initial evolution scale. We found that the skewness ratio for quarks is a slow logarithmic function of $Q^2$ reaching $r^S=1.5-2$ at $Q^2=100$ GeV$^2$ and $r^g approx 1$ for gluons in a wide range of $Q^2$. Using the resulting GPDs, we calculated the DVCS cross section on the proton in NLO pQCD and found that this model in conjunction with modern parameterizations of proton PDFs (CJ15 and CT14) provides a good description of the available H1 and ZEUS data in a wide kinematic range.
