In a recent publication (Phys. Rev E 77, 056705 (2008)),we have presented the stochastic Green function (SGF) algorithm, which has the properties of being general and easy to apply to any lattice Hamiltonian of the form H=V-T, where V is diagonal in the chosen occupation number basis and T has only positive matrix elements. We propose here a modified version of the update scheme that keeps the simplicity and generality of the original SGF algorithm, and enhances significantly its efficiency.

We present the Stochastic Green Function (SGF) algorithm designed for bosons on lattices. This new quantum Monte Carlo algorithm is independent of the dimension of the system, works in continuous imaginary time, and is exact (no error beyond statisti cal errors). Hamiltonians with several species of bosons (and one-dimensional Bose-Fermi Hamiltonians) can be easily simulated. Some important features of the algorithm are that it works in the canonical ensemble and gives access to n-body Green functions.
We analyze the operation of a molecular machine driven by the non-adiabatic variation of external parameters. We derive a formula for the integrated flow from one configuration to another, obtain a no-pumping theorem for cyclic processes with thermal ly activated transitions, and show that in the adiabatic limit the pumped current is given by a geometric expression.
We present efficient algorithms to generate a bit string in which each bit is set with arbitrary probability. By adopting a hybrid algorithm, i.e., a finite-bit density approximation with correction techniques, we achieve 3.8 times faster random bit generation than the simple algorithm for the 32-bit case and 6.8 times faster for the 64-bit case. Employing the developed algorithm, we apply the multispin coding technique to one-dimensional bond-directed percolation. The simulations are accelerated by up to a factor of 14 compared with an optimized scalar implementation. The random bit string generation algorithm proposed here is applicable to general Monte Carlo methods.
A methodical derivation of RKKY interaction in framework of T=0 Green function method is given in great detail. The article is complimentary to standard textbooks on the physics of magnetism and condensed matter physics. It is shown that the methods of statistical mechanics gives a standard and probably simplest derivation of the exchange interaction. A parallel with theory of plasma waves demonstrates the relation between the Fourier transformation of polarization operator of degenerate electron gas at zero frequency and the space dependence of the indirect electron exchange due to itinerant electrons.

We introduce a stochastic sandpile model where finite drive and dissipation are coupled to the activity field. The absorbing phase transition here, as expected, belongs to the directed percolation (DP) universality class. We focus on the small drive and dissipation limit, i.e. the so-called self-organised critical (SOC) regime and show that the system exhibits a crossover from ordinary DP scaling to a dissipation-controlled scaling which is independent of the underlying dynamics or spatial dimension. The new scaling regime continues all the way to the zero bulk drive limit suggesting that the corresponding SOC behaviour is only DP, modified by the dissipation-controlled scaling. We demonstrate this for the continuous and discrete Manna model driven by noise and bulk dissipation.
