We present a new determination of the parity of the neutral pion via the double Dalitz decay pi^0 -> e+ e- e+ e-. Our sample, which consists of 30511 candidate decays, was collected from K_L -> pi0 pi0 pi0 decays in flight at the KTeV-E799 experiment at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. We confirm the negative pi^0 parity, and place a limit on scalar contributions to the pi^0 -> e+ e- e+ e- decay amplitude of less than 3.3% assuming CPT conservation. The pi^0 gamma* gamma* form factor is well described by a momentum-dependent model with a slope parameter fit to the final state phase space distribution. Additionally, we have measured the branching ratio of this mode to be B(pi^0 -> e+ e- e+ e-) = (3.26 +- 0.18) x 10^(-5).

The spin and parity of the $Z_c(3900)^pm$ state are determined to be $J^P=1^+$ with a statistical significance larger than $7sigma$ over other quantum numbers in a partial wave analysis of the process $e^+e^-to pi^+pi^-J/psi$. We use a data sample of 1.92 fb$^{-1}$ accumulated at $sqrt{s}=4.23$ and 4.26 GeV with the BESIII experiment. When parameterizing the $Z_c(3900)^pm$ with a Flatte-like formula, we determine its pole mass $M_textrm{pole}=(3881.2pm4.2_textrm{stat}pm52.7_textrm{syst})textrm{MeV}/c^2$ and pole width $Gamma_textrm{pole}=(51.8pm4.6_textrm{stat}pm36.0_textrm{syst})textrm{MeV}$. We also measure cross sections for the process $e^+e^-to Z_c(3900)^+pi^-+c.c.to J/psipi^+pi^-$ and determine an upper limit at the 90% confidence level for the process $e^+e^-to Z_c(4020)^+pi^-+c.c.to J/psipi^+pi^-$.
Using a $3.19~mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ data sample collected at an $e^+e^-$ center-of-mass energy of $E_{rm cm}=4.178$ GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the branching fraction of the leptonic decay $D_s^+tomu^+ u_mu$ to be $mathcal{B}_{D_s^+tomu^+ u_m u}=(5.49pm0.16_{rm stat.}pm0.15_{rm syst.})times10^{-3}$. Combining our branching fraction with the masses of the $D_s^+$ and $mu^+$ and the lifetime of the $D_s^+$, we determine $f_{D_s^+}|V_{cs}|=246.2pm3.6_{rm stat.}pm3.5_{rm syst.}~mathrm{MeV}$. Using the $cto s$ quark mixing matrix element $|V_{cs}|$ determined from a global standard model fit, we evaluate the $D_s^+$ decay constant $f_{D_s^+}=252.9pm3.7_{rm stat.}pm3.6_{rm syst.}$,MeV. Alternatively, using the value of $f_{D_s^+}$ calculated by lattice quantum chromodynamics, we find $|V_{cs}| = 0.985pm0.014_{rm stat.}pm0.014_{rm syst.}$. These values of $mathcal{B}_{D_s^+tomu^+ u_mu}$, $f_{D_s^+}|V_{cs}|$, $f_{D_s^+}$ and $|V_{cs}|$ are each the most precise results to date.
The interference between the K+K- S-wave and P-wave amplitudes in B_s -> J/psi K+K- decays with the K+K- pairs in the region around the phi(1020) resonance is used to determine the variation of the difference of the strong phase between these amplitu des as a function of K+K- invariant mass. Combined with the results from our CP asymmetry measurements in B_s -> J/psi phi decays, we conclude that the B_s mass eigenstate that is almost CP =+1 is lighter and decays faster than the mass eigenstate that is almost CP =-1. This determines the sign of the decay width difference DeltaGamma_s == Gamma_L -Gamma_H to be positive. Our result also resolves the ambiguity in the past measurements of the CP violating phase phi_s to be close to zero rather than pi. These conclusions are in agreement with the Standard Model expectations.
The E815 (NuTeV) neutrino experiment has performed a search for a 33.9 MeV/c^2 weakly-interacting neutral particle produced in pion decay. Such a particle may be responsible for an anomaly in the timing distribution of neutrino interactions in the KA RMEN experiment. E815 has searched for this particles decays in an instrumented decay region; no evidence for this particle was found. The search is sensitive to pion branching ratios as low as 10^-13.

We report a precision measurement of the parity-violating asymmetry $A_{PV}$ in the elastic scattering of longitudinally polarized electrons from $^{208}$Pb. We measure $A_{PV}=550pm 16 {rm (stat)}pm 8 {rm (syst)}$ parts per billion, leading to an ex traction of the neutral weak form factor $F_W(Q^2 = 0.00616 {rm GeV}^2) = 0.368 pm 0.013$. Combined with our previous measurement, the extracted neutron skin thickness is $R_n-R_p=0.283 pm 0.071$~fm. The result also yields the first significant direct measurement of the interior weak density of $^{208}$Pb: $rho^0_W = -0.0796pm0.0036 {rm (exp.)}pm0.0013 {rm (theo.)} {rm fm}^{-3}$ leading to the interior baryon density $rho^0_b = 0.1480pm0.0036 {rm (exp.)}pm0.0013 {rm (theo.)} {rm fm}^{-3}$. The measurement accurately constrains the density dependence of the symmetry energy of nuclear matter near saturation density, with implications for the size and composition of neutron stars.
