We show that not all 4-party pure states are GHZ reducible (i.e., can be generated reversibly from a combination of 2-, 3- and 4-party maximally entangled states by local quantum operations and classical communication asymptotically) through an example, we also present some properties of the relative entropy of entanglement for those 3-party pure states that are GHZ reducible, and then we relate these properties to the additivity of the relative entropy of entanglement.

We show that genuine multipartite entanglement of all multipartite pure states in arbitrary finite dimension can be detected in a device-independent way by employing bipartite Bell inequalities on states that are deterministically generated from the initial state via local operations. This leads to an efficient scheme for large classes of multipartite states that are relevant in quantum computation or condensed-matter physics, including cluster states and the ground state of the Affleck-Kennedy-Lieb-Tasaki (AKLT) model. For cluster states the detection of genuine multipartite entanglement involves only measurements on a constant number of systems with an overhead that scales linear with the system size, while for the AKLT model the overhead is polynomial. In all cases our approach shows robustness against experimental imperfections.
We generalize the Schmidt-correlated states to multipartite systems. The related equivalence under SLOCC, the separability, entanglement witness, entanglement measures of negativity, concurrence and relative entropy are investigated in detail for the generalized Schmidt-correlated states.

Based upon standard angular momentum theory, we develop a framework to investigate polarization squeezing and multipartite entanglement of a quantum light field. Both mean polarization and variances of the Stokes parameters are obtained analytically, with which we study recent observation of triphoton states [L. K. Shalm {it et al}, Nature textbf{457}, 67 (2009)]. Our results show that the appearance of maximally entangled NOON states accompanies with a flip of mean polarization and can be well understood in terms of quantum Fisher information.
We derive a hierarchy of continuous-variable multipartite entanglement conditions in terms of second-order moments of position and momentum operators that generalizes existing criteria. Each condition corresponds to a convex optimization problem whic h, given the covariance matrix of the state, can be numerically solved in a straightforward way. The conditions are independent of partial transposition and thus are also able to detect bound entangled states. Our approach can be used to obtain an analytical condition for genuine multipartite entanglement. We demonstrate that even a special case of our conditions can detect entanglement very efficiently. Using multi-objective optimization it is also possible to numerically verify genuine entanglement of some experimentally realizable states.
The familiar Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states can be rewritten by entangling the Bell states for two qubits with a state of the third qubit, which is dubbed entangled entanglement. We show that in this way we obtain all 8 independent GHZ stat es that form the simplex of entangled entanglement, the magic simplex. The construction procedure allows a generalization to higher dimensions both, in the degrees of freedom (considering qudits) as well as in the number of particles (considering n-partite states). Such bases of GHZ-type states exhibit a certain geometry that is relevant for experimental and quantum information theoretic applications. Furthermore, we study the geometry of these particular state spaces, the inherent symmetries, the cyclicity of the phase operations, and the regions of (genuine multi-partite) entanglement and the several classes of separability. We find non-trivial geometrical properties and a conceptually clear procedure to compare state spaces of different dimensions and number of particles.
