We explore the role of a scalar meson exchange interaction between quarks in a semirelativistic constituent quark model where the quarks are subject to a linear confinement. We search for a variational solution and show that the gap between the N=1 band and the ground state N=0 band increases with the strength of the scalar meson exchange interaction potential. This result has good implications on the description of the low-lying baryon resonances, especially on the Roper vs. negative parity resonances ordering.

We discuss contributions of chiral bosons to baryon spectra in the MIT bag model. It is believed that within hadrons, chiral bosons are degrees of freedom which are independent of gluons to provide strong interactions between quarks. In the original MIT bag model, only interaction mediated by gluon exchanges was considered, by contrast, in this work we take into account the interaction mediated by the exchanges of chiral bosons $sigma$ and $pi^{(pm,0)}$. Then following the standard approach, we minimize the effective hamiltonian which includes both the contributions from gluon and chiral-boson exchanges with respect to the bag radius to obtain the effective radius. By re-fitting the spectra of baryons, we find that the contributions from the boson-exchange may be 40% of that from gluon-exchanges and meanwhile the bag constant $B$, the zero-point energy $z_0$ almost do not change. It indicates that in the original version of the MIT bag model, the intermediate-distance interaction due to the chiral-boson exchanges is attributed into the effective coupling $alpha_c$ which stood for the short-distance interaction caused by the gluon exchanges and the long-distance effects reflected by $B$ and $z_0$ are not influenced.
In the search for a composite Higgs boson in walking technicolor models, many flavor QCD, in particular with $N_f=8$, is an attractive candidate, and has been found to have a composite flavor-singlet scalar as light as the pion. Based on lattice simu lations of this theory with the HISQ action, we will present our preliminary results on the scalar decay constant using the fermionic bilinear operator, and on the mass of the lightest baryon state which could be a dark matter candidate. Combining these two results, implications for dark matter direct detection are also discussed.
The challenges with the molecular model of the multiquark systems are the identification of the hadronic molecules and the interaction between two color neutral hadrons. We study the di-hadronic molecular systems with proposed interaction potential a s s-wave one boson exchange potential along with Screen Yukawa-like potential, and arrived with the proposal that within hadronic molecule the two color neutral hadrons experience the dipole-like interaction. The present study is the continuation of our previous study cite{arxiv-Rathaud-penta}. With the proposed interaction potential, the mass spectra of $Sigma_{s}K^{*}$, $Sigma_{c}K^{*}$, $Sigma_{b}K^{*}$, $Sigma_{s}D^{*}$, $Sigma_{c}D^{*}$, $Sigma_{b}D^{*}$, $Sigma_{s}B^{*}$, $Sigma_{c}B^{*}$, $Sigma_{b}B^{*}$, $Xi_{s}K^{*}$, $Xi_{c}K^{*}$, $Xi_{b}K^{*}$, $Xi_{s}D^{*}$, $Xi_{c}D^{*}$, $Xi_{b}D^{*}$, $Xi_{s}B^{*}$, $Xi_{c}B^{*}$, $Xi_{b}B^{*}$ meson-baryon molecules are predicted. The Weinberg compositeness theorem which provides clue for the compositeness of the state is used for determination of the scattering length and effective range. The present study predict $P_{c}(4450)$ pentaquark sate as $Sigma_{c}D^{*}$ molecule with $I(J^{P})=frac{1}{2}(frac{3}{2}^{-})$. The formalism also predicts some very interesting open as well as hidden flavour near threshold molecular pentaquark states.
A phenomenological analysis of the scalar meson f0(980) is performed that relies on the quasi-two body decays D and Ds -> f0(980)P, with P=pi, K. The two-body branching ratios are deduced from experimental data on D or Ds -> pi pi pi, K Kbar pi and f rom the f0(980) -> pi+ pi- and f0(980) -> K+ K- branching fractions. Within a covariant quark model, the scalar form factors F0(q2) for the transitions D and Ds -> f0(980) are computed. The weak D decay amplitudes, in which these form factors enter, are obtained in the naive factorization approach assuming a quark-antiquark state for the scalar and pseudoscalar mesons. They allow to extract information on the f0(980) wave function in terms of u-ubar, d-dbar and s-sbar pairs as well as on the mixing angle between the strange and non-strange components. The weak transition form factors are modeled by the one-loop triangular diagram using two different relativistic approaches: covariant light-front dynamics and dispersion relations. We use the information found on the f0(980) structure to evaluate the scalar and vector form factors in the transitions D and Ds -> f0(980), as well as to make predictions for B and Bs -> f0(980), for the entire kinematically allowed momentum range of q2.

The external-field QCD Sum Rules method is used to evaluate the coupling constants of the light-isoscalar scalar meson (``sigma or epsilon) to the Lambda, Sigma, and Xi baryons. It is shown that these coupling constants as calculated from QCD Sum Rul es are consistent with SU(3)-flavor relations, which leads to a determination of the F/(F+D) ratio of the scalar octet assuming ideal mixing: we find alpha_s equiv F/(F+D)=0.55. The coupling constants with SU(3) breaking effects are also discussed.
