A recent study of dynamical chiral symmetry breaking in N-flavour QED$_3$ at finite temperature is extended to include the effect of fermion wavefunction renormalisation in the Schwinger-Dyson equations. The simple ``zero-frequency truncation previously used is found to lead to unphysical results, especially as $T to 0$. A modified set of equations is proposed, whose solutions behave in a way which is qualitatively similar to the $T=0$ solutions of Pennington et al. [5-8] who have made extensive studies of the effect of wavefunction renormalisation in this context, and who concluded that there was no critical $N_c$ (at T=0) above which chiral symmetry was restored. In contrast, we find that our modified equations predict a critical $N_c$ at $T ot= 0$, and an $N-T$ phase diagram very similar to the earlier study neglecting wavefunction renormalisation. The reason for the difference is traced to the different infrared behaviour of the vacuum polarisation at $T=0$ and at $T ot= 0$.

Dynamical symmetry breaking in three-dimensional QED with N fermion flavours is considered at finite temperature, in the large $N$ approximation. Using an approximate treatment of the Schwinger-Dyson equation for the fermion self-energy, we find that chiral symmetry is restored above a certain critical temperature which depends itself on $N$. We find that the ratio of the zero-momentum zero-temperature fermion mass to the critical temperature has a large value compared with four-fermion theories, as had been suggested in a previous work with a momentum-independent self-energy. Evidence of a temperature- dependent critical $N$ is shown to appear in this approximation. The phase diagram for spontaneous mass generation in the theory is presented in $T-N$ space.
Thermal Hilbert moment QCD sum rules are used to obtain the temperature dependence of the hadronic parameters of charmonium in the vector channel, i.e. the $J$ / $psi$ resonance mass, coupling (leptonic decay constant), total width, and continuum thr eshold. The continuum threshold $s_0$, which signals the end of the resonance region and the onset of perturbative QCD (PQCD), behaves as in all other hadronic channels, i.e. it decreases with increasing temperature until it reaches the PQCD threshold $s_0 = 4 m_Q^2$, with $m_Q$ the charm quark mass, at $Tsimeq 1.22 T_c$. The rest of the hadronic parameters behave very differently from those of light-light and heavy-light quark systems. The $J$ / $psi$ mass is essentially constant in a wide range of temperatures, while the total width grows with temperature up to $T simeq 1.04 T_c$ beyond which it decreases sharply with increasing T. The resonance coupling is also initially constant and then begins to increase monotonically around $T simeq T_c$. This behaviour of the total width and of the leptonic decay constant provides a strong indication that the $J$ / $psi$ resonance might survive beyond the critical temperature for deconfinement.
Chiral magnetic effect (CME) has been suggested to take place during peripheral relativistic heavy ion collisions. However, signals of its realization are not yet independent of ambiguities and thus probing the non-trivial topological vacua of quantu m chromodynamics (QCD) is still an open issue. Weyl materials, particularly graphene, on the other hand, are effectively described at low energies by the degrees of freedom of quantum electrodynamics in two spatial dimensions, QED3. This theory shares with QCD some interesting features, like confinement and chiral symmetry breaking and also possesses a non-trivial vacuum structure. In this regard, an analog of the CME is proposed to take place in graphene under the influence of an in-plane magnetic field in which the pseudo-spin or flavor label of charge carriers is participant of the effect, rather than the actual spin. In this contribution, we review the parallelisms and differences between the CME and the so-called pseudo chiral magnetic effect, PCME.

The nucleon mass shift is calculated using chiral counting arguments and a virial expansion, without and with the $Delta$. At all temperatures, the mass shift and damping rate are dominated by the $Delta$. Our results are compared with the empirical analysis of Leutwyler and Smilga, as well as results from heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory in the large $N_{c}$ (number of color) limit. We show that unitarity implies that the concepts of thermal shifts are process dependent.
We present the Flavour Les Houches Accord (FLHA) which specifies a unique set of conventions for flavour-related parameters and observables. The FLHA uses the generic SUSY Les Houches Accord (SLHA) file structure. It defines the relevant Standard Mod el masses, Wilson coefficients, decay constants, bag parameters, flavour observables, etc. The accord provides a universal and model-independent interface between codes evaluating and/or using flavour-related observables.
