We report a study of the organic compound $(TMTSF)_2 ClO_4$ in both a sample cooled very slowly through the anion ordering temperature (relaxed state) and a sample cooled more rapidly (intermediate state). For the relaxed state the entire sample is observed to be superconducting below about T_c ~ 1.2 K. The second moment of the internal field distribution was measured for the relaxed state yielding an in-plane penetration depth of ~ 12000 Angstroms. The intermediate state sample entered a mixed phase state, characterized by coexisting macroscopic sized regions of superconducting and spin density wave (SDW) regions, below T_c ~ 0.87 K. These data were analyzed using a back-to-back cutoff exponential function, allowing the extraction of the first three moments of the magnetic field distribution. Formation of a vortex lattice is observed below 0.87 K as evidenced by the diamagnetic shift for the two fields in which we took intermediate state data.

The study of the anion ordered (TMTSF)_2ClO_4_(1-x)ReO_4_x, solid solution in the limit of a low ReO_4- substitution level (0<=x<=17%) has revealed a new and interesting phase diagram. Superconductivity is drastically suppressed as the effect of ReO_ 4- non magnetic point defects increases following the digamma behaviour for usual superconductors in the presence of paramagnetic impurities. Then, no long range order can be stabilized above 0.1K in a narrow window of substitution. Finally, an insulating SDW ground state in ReO_4- -rich samples is rapidly stabilized with the decrease of the potential strength leading to the doubling of the transverse periodicity. This extensive study has shown that the superconducting order parameter must change its sign over the Fermi surface.

We report transverse-field (TF) muon spin rotation experiments on single crystals of the topological superconductor Sr$_x$Bi$_2$Se$_3$ with nominal concentrations $x=0.15$ and $0.18$ ($T_c sim 3$ K). The TF spectra ($B= 10$ mT), measured after coolin g to below $T_c$ in field, did not show any additional damping of the muon precession signal due to the flux line lattice within the experimental uncertainty. This puts a lower bound on the magnetic penetration depth $lambda geq 2.3 ~mu$m. However, when we induce disorder in the vortex lattice by changing the magnetic field below $T_c$ a sizeable damping rate is obtained for $T rightarrow 0$. The data provide microscopic evidence for a superconducting volume fraction of $sim 70~ %$ in the $x=0.18$ crystal and thus bulk superconductivity.
The application of the muon-spin rotation/relaxation ($mu$SR) technique for studying type-I superconductivity is discussed. In the intermediate state, i.e. when a type-I superconducting sample with non-zero demagnetization factor $N$ is separated int o normal state and Meissner state (superconducting) domains, the $mu$SR technique allows to determine with very high precision the value of the thermodynamic critical field $B_{rm c}$, as well as the volume of the sample in the normal and the superconducting state. Due to the microscopic nature of $mu$SR technique, the $B_{rm c}$ values are determined directly via measurements of the internal field inside the normal state domains. No assumptions or introduction of any type of measurement criteria are needed. Experiments performed on a classical type-I superconductor, a cylindrically shaped $beta-$Sn sample, allowed to reconstruct the full $B-T$ phase diagram. The zero-temperature value of the thermodynamic critical field $B_{rm c}(0)=30.578(6)$ mT and the transition temperature $T_{rm c}=3.717(3)$ K were determined and found to be in a good agreement with the literature data. An experimentally obtained demagnetization factor is in very good agreement with theoretical calculations of the demagnetization factor of a finite cylinder. The analysis of $B_{rm c}(T)$ dependence within the framework of the phenomenological $alpha-$model allow to obtain the value of the superconducting energy gap $Delta=0.59(1)$ meV, of the electronic specific heat $gamma_e=1.781(3)$ ${rm mJ}/{rm mol}; {rm K}^2$ and of the jump in the heat capacity ${Delta C(T_c)}/{gamma T_{rm c}}=1.55(2)$.
Muon spin rotation (muSR) experiments were performed on the intercalated graphite CaC6 in the normal and superconducting state down to 20 mK. In addition, AC magnetization measurements were carried out resulting in an anisotropic upper critical field Hc2, from which the coherence lengths xi_ab(0)=36.3(1.5) nm and xi_c(0)=4.3(7) nm were estimated. The anisotropy parameter gamma_H= H_c2_ab/H_c2_c increases monotonically with decreasing temperature. A single isotropic s-wave description of superconductivity cannot account for this behaviour. From magnetic field dependent muSR experiments the absolute value of the in-plane magnetic penetretion depth lambda_ab=78(3) nm was determined. The temperature dependence of the superfluid density rho_s(T) is slightly better described by a two-gap than a single-gap model.
We report temperature- and magnetic field-dependent bulk muon spin rotation measurements in a c-axis oriented superconductor CaC6 in the mixed state. Using both a simple second moment analysis and the more precise analytical Ginzburg-Landau model, we obtained a field independent in-plane magnetic penetration depth {lambda}ab (0) = 72(3) nm. The temperature dependencies of the normalized muon spin relaxation rate and of the normalized superfluid density result to be identical, and both are well represented by the clean limit BCS model with 2Delta/kB Tc = 3.6(1), suggesting that CaC6 is a fully gapped BCS superconductor in the clean limit regime.
