The generation of harmonics of the voltage response is considered when an AC current is applied through a superconducting film above T_c. It is shown that almost at all temperatures the mechanism of the temperature oscillations created by the AC current and the temperature dependence of the resistance dominates over the isothermal nonlinear electric conductivity. Only in a narrow critical region close to T_c the latter is essential for the generation of the harmonics. A detailed investigation of harmonics generation provides an accurate method for measuring the thermal boundary conductance between the film and the insulating substrate. The critical behaviour of the third harmonic will give a new method for the determination of the lifetime of metastable Cooper pairs above T_c. The comparison of the calculated fifth harmonics of the voltage with the experiment is proposed as an important test for the applicability of the employed theoretical models.

Explicit analytical expressions for conductivity of a superconducting film above and below critical temperature in an arbitrary electric field are derived in the frameworks of the time dependent Ginzburg-Landau theory. It is confirmed that slightly b elow critical temperature the differential conductivity of superconducting film can become negative for small enough values of electric field. This fact may cause generation of electromagnetic oscillations if the superconducting film is appropriately coupled of with a resonator. Their maximal frequency is proportional to the value of critical temperature of superconducting transition. The obtained results can stimulate the development of Terahertz generators on the basis of high temperature superconducting films.
We show how to calculate the magnetic-field and sheet-current distributions for a thin-film superconducting annular ring (inner radius a, outer radius b, and thickness d<<a) when either the penetration depth obeys lambda < d/2 or, if lambda > d/2, th e two-dimensional screening length obeys Lambda = 2 lambda^2/d << a for the following cases: (a) magnetic flux trapped in the hole in the absence of an applied magnetic field, (b) zero magnetic flux in the hole when the ring is subjected to an applied magnetic field, and (c) focusing of magnetic flux into the hole when a magnetic field is applied but no net current flows around the ring. We use a similar method to calculate the magnetic-field and sheet-current distributions and magnetization loops for a thin, bulk-pinning-free superconducting disk (radius b) containing a dome of magnetic flux of radius a when flux entry is impeded by a geometrical barrier.
A vortex crossing a thin-film superconducting strip from one edge to the other, perpendicular to the bias current, is the dominant mechanism of dissipation for films of thickness d on the order of the coherence length XI; and of width w much narrower than the Pearl length LAMBDA >> w >> XI. At high bias currents, I* < I < Ic, the heat released by the crossing of a single vortex suffices to create a belt-like normal-state region across the strip, resulting in a detectable voltage pulse. Here Ic is the critical current at which the energy barrier vanishes for a single vortex crossing. The belt forms along the vortex path and causes a transition of the entire strip into the normal state. We estimate I* to be roughly Ic/3. Further, we argue that such hot vortex crossings are the origin of dark counts in photon detectors, which operate in the regime of metastable superconductivity at currents between I* and Ic. We estimate the rate of vortex crossings and compare it with recent experimental data for dark counts. For currents below I*, i.e., in the stable superconducting but resistive regime, we estimate the amplitude and duration of voltage pulses induced by a single vortex crossing.

Recently V-based Kagome metal attracted intense attention due to the emergence of superconductivity in the low temperature. Here we report the fabrication and physical investigations of the high quality single-crystalline thin films of the Kagome met al KV$_3$Sb$_5$. For the sample with the thickness of about 15 nm, the temperature dependent resistance reveals a Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless (BKT) type behavior, indicating the presence of two-dimensional superconductivity. Compared with the bulk sample, the onset transition temperature $T^{onset}_{c}$ and the out-of-plane upper critical field $H_{c2}$ are enhanced by 15% and more than 10 times respectively. Moreover, the zero-resistance state is destroyed by a magnetic field as low as 50 Oe. Meanwhile, the temperature-independent resistance is observed in a wide field region, which is the hallmark of quantum metallic state. Our results provide evidences for the existence of unconventional superconductivity in this material.
The effects of microwave radiation on the transport properties of atomically thin $La_{2-x}Sr_xCuO_4$ films were studied in the 0.1-13 GHz frequency range. Resistance changes induced by microwaves were investigated at different temperatures near the superconducting transition. The nonlinear response decreases by several orders of magnitude within a few GHz of a cutoff frequency $ u_{cut} approx$ 2 GHz. Numerical simulations that assume an ac response to follow the dc V-I characteristics of the films reproduce well the low frequency behavior, but fail above $ u_{cut}$. The results indicate that two-dimensional superconductivity is resilient against high-frequency microwave radiation, because vortex-antivortex dissociation is dramatically suppressed in two-dimensional superconducting condensates oscillating at high frequencies.
