In this paper, we introduce the concept of uniformly bounded fibred coarse embeddability of metric spaces, generalizing the notion of fibred coarse embeddability defined by X. Chen, Q. Wang and G. Yu. Moreover, we show its relationship with uniformly bounded a-T-menability of groups. Finally, we give some examples to illustrate the differences between uniformly bounded fibred coarse embeddability and fibred coarse embeddability.

The goal of this note is to construct a uniformly antisymmetric function f:R-> R with a bounded countable range. This answers Problem 1(b) of Ciesielski and Larson. (See also list of problems in Thomson and Problem 2(b) from Ciesielskis survey.) A pr oblem of existence of uniformly antisymmetric function f:R-> R with finite range remains open.
We show that for acylindrically hyperbolic groups $Gamma$ (with no nontrivial finite normal subgroups) and arbitrary unitary representation $rho$ of $Gamma$ in a (nonzero) uniformly convex Banach space the vector space $H^2_b(Gamma;rho)$ is infinite dimensional. The result was known for the regular representations on $ell^p(Gamma)$ with $1<p<infty$ by a different argument. But our result is new even for a non-abelian free group in this great generality for representations, and also the case for acylindrically hyperbolic groups follows as an application.

We show that the simple rank one Lie group Sp(n ,1) for any n admits a proper 1-cocycle for a uniformly bounded Hilbert space representation: i.e. it admits a metrically proper affine action on a Hilbert space whose linear part is a uniformly bounded representation. Our construction is a simple modification of the one given by Pierre Julg but crucially uses results on uniformly bounded representations by Michael Cowling. An interesting new feature is that the properness of these cocycles follows from the non-continuity of a critical case of the Sobolev embedding. This work is inspired from Pierre Julgs work on the Baum-Connes conjecture for Sp(n,1).

Let $A(G)$ and $B(H)$ be the Fourier and Fourier-Stieltjes algebras of locally compact groups $G$ and $H$, respectively. Ilie and Spronk have shown that continuous piecewise affine maps $alpha: Y subseteq Hrightarrow G$ induce completely bounded homo morphisms $Phi:A(G)rightarrow B(H)$, and that when $G$ is amenable, every completely bounded homomorphism arises in this way. This generalised work of Cohen in the abelian setting. We believe that there is a gap in a key lemma of the existing argument, which we do not see how to repair. We present here a different strategy to show the result, which instead of using topological arguments, is more combinatorial and makes use of measure theoretic ideas, following more closely the original ideas of Cohen.

This work deals with relations between a bounded cohomological invariant and the geometry of Hermitian symmetric spaces of noncompact type. The invariant, obtained from the Kahler class, is used to define and characterize a special class of totally g eodesic embeddings, called tight embeddings. In addition, special isometric actions of finitely generated groups on Hermitian symmetric spaces are studied. Results of a joint work with M. Burger and A. Iozzi about surface group representations are also discussed.
