Cubical cochains are equipped with an associative product, dual to the Serre diagonal, lifting the graded ring structure in cohomology. In this work we introduce through explicit combinatorial methods an extension of this product to a full $E_infty$-structure. We also study the Cartan-Serre map relating the cubical and simplicial singular cochains of spaces, and prove that this classical map is a quasi-isomorphism of $E_infty$-algebras.

We investigate when a commutative ring spectrum $R$ satisfies a homotopical version of local Gorenstein duality, extending the notion previously studied by Greenlees. In order to do this, we prove an ascent theorem for local Gorenstein duality along morphisms of $k$-algebras. Our main examples are of the form $R = C^*(X;k)$, the ring spectrum of cochains on a space $X$ for a field $k$. In particular, we establish local Gorenstein duality in characteristic $p$ for $p$-compact groups and $p$-local finite groups as well as for $k = Q$ and $X$ a simply connected space which is Gorenstein in the sense of Dwyer, Greenlees, and Iyengar.
The solution of Delignes conjecture on Hochschild cochains and the formality of the operad of little disks provide us with a natural homotopy Gerstenhaber algebra structure on the Hochschild cochains of an associative algebra. In this paper we constr uct a natural chain of quasi-isomorphisms of homotopy Gerstenhaber algebras between the Hochschild cochain complex C(A) of a regular commutative algebra A over a field of characteristic zero and the Gerstenhaber algebra of multiderivations of A. Unlike the original approach of the second author based on the computation of obstructions our method allows us to avoid the bulky Gelfand-Fuchs trick and prove the formality of the homotopy Gerstenhaber algebra structure on the sheaf of polydifferential operators on a smooth algebraic variety, a complex manifold, and a smooth real manifold.

The invertibility hypothesis for a monoidal model category S asks that localizing an S-enriched category with respect to an equivalence results in an weakly equivalent enriched category. This is the most technical among the axioms for S to be an exce llent model category in the sense of Lurie, who showed that the category of S-enriched categories then has a model structure with characterizable fibrant objects. We use a universal property of cubical sets, as a monoidal model category, to show that the invertibility hypothesis is consequence of the other axioms.

The theory of abstract kernels in non-trivial extensions for many kinds of algebraical objects, such as groups, rings and graded rings, associative algebras, Lie algebras, restricted Lie algebras, DG-algebras and DG-Lie algebras, has been widely stud ied since 1940s. Gerhard Hochschild firstly treats associative algebra as an generic type in the series of kernel problems. He proves the theorem of constructing kernel by presenting many tedious relations that may lost the readers today. In this paper, we shall illustrate the formulation and recast it for Lie algebra(-oid) kernels. We also prove the independence of 3-cocycle in the case of associative algebra. Finally, we use the universal enveloping algebra of Lie algebra to reduce the difficulty of a direct construction for the derivation algebras.
We compute the $C_p$-equivariant dual Steenrod algebras associated to the constant Mackey functors $underline{mathbb{F}}_p$ and $underline{mathbb{Z}}_{(p)}$, as $underline{mathbb{Z}}_{(p)}$-modules. The $C_p$-spectrum $underline{mathbb{F}}_p otimes u nderline{mathbb{F}}_p$ is not a direct sum of $RO(C_p)$-graded suspensions of $underline{mathbb{F}}_p$ when $p$ is odd, in contrast with the classical and $C_2$-equivariant dual Steenrod algebras.
