Co$_3$Sn$_2$S$_2$ is a ferromagnetic semi-metal with Weyl nodes in its band structure and a large anomalous Hall effect below its Curie temperature of 177 K. We present a detailed study of its Fermi surface and examine the relevance of the anomalous transverse Wiedemann Franz law to it. We studied Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations along two orientations in single crystals with a mobility as high as $2.7times$10$^3$ cm$^2$V$^{-1}$s$^{-1}$ subject to a magnetic field as large as $sim$ 60 T. The angle dependence of the frequencies is in agreement with density functional theory (DFT) calculations and reveals two types of hole pockets (H1, H2) and two types of electron pockets (E1, E2). An additional unexpected frequency emerges at high magnetic field. We attribute it to magnetic breakdown between the hole pocket H2 and the electron pocket E2, since it is close to the sum of the E2 and H2 fundamental frequencies. By measuring the anomalous thermal and electrical Hall conductivities, we quantified the anomalous transverse Lorenz ratio, which is close to the Sommerfeld ratio ($L_0=frac{pi^2}{3}frac{k_B^2}{e^2}$) below 100 K and deviates downwards at higher temperatures. This finite temperature deviation from the anomalous Wiedemann-Franz law is a source of information on the distance between the sources and sinks of the Berry curvature and the chemical potential.

Magnetic Weyl semimetals exhibit intriguing transport phenomena due to their non-trivial band structure. Recent experiments in bulk crystals of the shandite-type Co$_3$Sn$_2$S$_2$ have shown that this material system is a magnetic Weyl semimetal. To access the length scales relevant for chiral transport, it is mandatory to fabricate microstructures of this fascinating compound. We therefore have cut micro-ribbons (typical size $0.3~times~3~times~50$mu$m^3$) from Co$_3$Sn$_2$S$_2$ single crystals using a focused beam of Ga$^{2+}$-ions and investigated the impact of the sample dimensions and possible surface doping on the magnetotransport properties. The large intrinsic anomalous Hall effect observed in the micro ribbons is quantitatively consistent with the one in bulk samples. Our results show that focused ion beam cutting can be used for nano-patterning single crystalline Co$_3$Sn$_2$S$_2$, enabling future transport experiments in complex microstructures of this Weyl semimetal.
We study the anomalous Hall Effect (AHE) of single-crystalline Co$_3$Sn$_{2-x}$In$_x$S$_2$ over a large range of indium concentration x from 0 to 1. Their magnetization reduces progressively with increasing x while their ground state evolves from a f erromagnetic Weyl semimetal into a nonmagnetic insulator. Remarkably, after systematically scaling the AHE, we find that their intrinsic anomalous Hall conductivity (AHC) features an unexpected maximum at around x = 0.15. The change of the intrinsic AHC corresponds with the doping evolution of Berry curvature and the maximum arises from the magnetic topological nodal-ring gap. Our experimental results show a larger AHC in a fundamental nodal-ring gap than that of Weyl nodes.
We report a comprehensive neutron scattering study on the spin excitations in the magnetic Weyl semimetal Co$_3$Sn$_2$S$_2$ with quasi-two-dimensional structure. Both in-plane and out-of-plane dispersions of the spin waves are revealed in the ferroma gnetic state, similarly dispersive but damped spin excitations persist into the paramagnetic state. The effective exchange interactions have been estimated by a semi-classical Heisenberg model to consistently reproduce the experimental $T_C$ and spin stiffness. However, a full spin wave gap below $E_g=2.3$ meV is observed at $T=4$ K, much larger than the estimated magnetic anisotropy energy ($sim0.6$ meV), while its temperature dependence indicates a significant contribution from the Weyl fermions. These results suggest that Co$_3$Sn$_2$S$_2$ is a three-dimensional correlated system with large spin stiffness, and the low-energy spin dynamics could interplay with the topological electron states.
We report the observation of quantum Hall effect (QHE) in a Bi$_2$Se$_3$ single crystal having carrier concentration ($n$) $sim1.13times10^{19}$cm$^{-3}$, three dimensional Fermi surface and bulk transport characteristics. The plateaus in Hall resist ivity coincide with minima of Shubnikov de Haas oscillations in resistivity. Our results demonstrate that the presence of perfect two dimensional transport is not an essential condition for QHE in Bi$_2$Se$_3$. The results of high resolution x-ray diffraction (HRXRD), energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and residual resistivity measurements show the presence of enhanced crystalline defects and microstrain. We propose that the formation of localized state at the edge of each Landau level due to resonance between the bulk and defect band of Bi$_2$Se$_3$ causes the quantum Hall effect.
Being encouraged by the interplay between topology, superconductivity and magnetism, we experimentally investigate charge transport through the interface between the Nb superconductor and the time-reversal symmetry breaking Weyl semimetal Co$_3$Sn$_2 $S$_2$. In addition to the proximity induced superconducting gap, we observe several subgap features, among which the most interesting is the prominent subgap zero-bias anomaly, absolutely stable against external magnetic fields up to the critical field of Nb. As the promising scenario for the zero-bias anomaly to appear in transport characteristics, we consider the proximity induced zero-energy Andreev bound states interfaced with the half-metallic Co$_3$Sn$_2$S$_2$ and influenced by the strong spin-orbit coupling and large Zeeman splitting.
