$eta_c$-nucleus bound state energies are calculated for various nuclei. Essential input for the calculations, namely the medium-modified $D$ and $D^{*}$ meson masses, as well as the density distributions in nuclei, are calculated within the quark-meson coupling (QMC) model. The attractive potentials for the $eta_c$ meson in the nuclear medium originate from the in-medium enhanced $DD^{*}$ loops in the $eta_c$ self-energy. Our results suggest that the $eta_c$ meson should form bound states with all the nuclei considered.

Quarkonium-nucleus systems are composed of two interacting hadronic states without common valence quarks, which interact primarily through multi-gluon exchanges, realizing a color van der Waals force. We present lattice QCD calculations of the intera ctions of strange and charm quarkonia with light nuclei. Both the strangeonium-nucleus and charmonium-nucleus systems are found to be relatively deeply bound when the masses of the three light quarks are set equal to that of the physical strange quark. Extrapolation of these results to the physical light-quark masses suggests that the binding energy of charmonium to nuclear matter is B < 40 MeV.

In this paper, we investigate the inclusive diffractive hadroproduction for $rm eta_{c}$ and $rm eta_{b}$ at the LHC energies. Based on the NRQCD factorization formalism and the resolved-Pomeron model for the quarkonium production mechanism, we estim ate the rapidity, momentum fraction loss dependence of the cross section. We give prediction ratios for single and central diffractive processes with respect to non diffractive process. These inclusive processes are sensitive to gluon content of Pomeron for small-$x$ and Reggeon for large-$x$, useful to study small and large-$x$ physics and good to test different mechanism for $rm eta_{c}$ and $rm eta_{b}$ production at the LHC. They also serve as the background to related exclusive processes thus should be predicted. Our results demonstrate that the Reggeon contribution of diffractive processes can be sizable, even sometimes dominant over Pomeron, and that its study can be useful to better constrain the Reggeon parton content. The experimental study of Reggeon can be carried out in certain kinematic windows.
Using a data sample of $2.25times10^{8}$ $J/psi$ events collected with the BESIII detector, we present the first observation of the decays of $eta_{c}$ mesons to $Sigma^{+}bar{Sigma}^{-}$ and $Xi^{-}bar{Xi}^{+}$. The branching fractions are measured to be $(2.11pm0.28_{rm stat.}pm0.18_{rm syst.}pm0.50_{rm PDG})times10^{-3}$ and $(0.89pm0.16_{rm stat.}pm0.08_{rm syst.}pm0.21_{rm PDG})times10^{-3}$ for $eta_{c} to Sigma^{+}bar{Sigma}^{-}$ and $Xi^{-}bar{Xi}^{+}$, respectively. These branching fractions provide important information on the helicity selection rule in charmonium-decay processes.

This note complements and clarifies the results obtained in the original paper {it QCD Parameters Correlations from Heavy Quarkonia} [1] where, here, we present a more detailed discussion of the alpha_s-results obtained @ N2LO at two different subtra ction scales mu=2.85 and 9.50 GeV from the (pseudo)scalar heavy quarkonia mass-spliitings M_{chi_{0c(0b)}}-M_{eta_{c(b)}}. We obtain from the M_{chi_{0c}}-M_{eta_{c}} sum rule: alpha_s(2.85)=0.262(9) --> alpha_s(M_tau)=0.318(15) --> alpha_s(M_Z)=0.1183(19)(3) and from the M_{chi_{0b}}-M_{eta_{b}} one: alpha_s(9.50)=0.180(8) --> alpha_s(M_tau)=0.312(27) --> alpha_s(M_Z)=0.1175(32)(3), in complete agreement with the world average: alpha_s(M_Z)=0.1181(11).
A study of $B^{0}_{s} to eta_{c} phi$ and $B^{0}_{s} to eta_{c} pi^{+}pi^{-}$ decays is performed using $pp$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0$,rm fb^{-1}$, collected with the LHCb detector in Run~1 of the LHC. The obser vation of the decay $B^{0}_{s} to eta_{c} phi$ is reported, where the $eta_{c}$ meson is reconstructed in the $pbar p$, $K^+K^-pi^+pi^-$, $pi^+pi^-pi^+pi^-$ and $K^+K^-K^+K^-$ decay modes and the $phi(1020)$ in the $K^+ K^-$ decay mode. The decay $B^{0}_{s} to J/psi phi$ is used as a normalisation channel. Evidence is also reported for the decay $B^{0}_{s} to eta_{c} pi^{+}pi^{-}$, where the $eta_{c}$ meson is reconstructed in the $pbar p$ decay mode, using the decay $B^{0}_{s} to J/psi pi^+ pi^-$ as a normalisation channel. The measured branching fractions are begin{eqnarray*} {mathcal B (B^{0}_{s} to eta_{c} phi)} &=& left(5.01 pm 0.53 pm 0.27 pm 0.63 right) times 10^{-4} ,, onumber {mathcal B (B^{0}_{s} to eta_{c} pi^+ pi^-)} &=& left(1.76 pm 0.59 pm 0.12 pm 0.29 right) times 10^{-4} ,, end{eqnarray*} where in each case the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third uncertainty is due to the limited knowledge of the external branching fractions.
