Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are a mysterious astrophysical phenomenon of bright pulses emitted at radio frequencies, and they are expected to be frequently detected in the future. The dispersion measures of FRBs are related to cosmological parameters, thus FRBs have the potential to be developed into a new cosmological probe if their data can be largely accumulated in the future. In this work, we study the capability of future FRB data to improve cosmological parameter estimation in two dynamical dark energy models. We find that the simulated FRB data can break the parameter degeneracies inherent in the current cosmic microwave background (CMB) data. Therefore, the combination of the CMB and FRB data can significantly improve the constraints on the Hubble constant and dark energy parameters, compared to those using CMB or FRB alone. If 10,000 FRB events with known redshifts are detected in the future, they would perform better than the baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) data in breaking the parameter degeneracies inherent in the CMB data. We also find that the combination of FRB and gravitational-wave (GW) standard siren data provides an independent low-redshift probe to verify the results from the CMB and BAO data. For the data combination of CMB, GW, and FRB, it is found that the main contribution to the constraints comes from the CMB and GW data, but the inclusion of the FRB data still can evidently improve the constraint on the baryon density.

Recently, about five hundred fast radio bursts (FRBs) detected by CHIME/FRB Project have been reported. The vast amounts of data would make FRBs a promising low-redshift cosmological probe in the forthcoming years, and thus the issue of how many FRBs are needed for precise cosmological parameter estimation in different dark energy models should be detailedly investigated. Different from the usually considered $w(z)$-parameterized models in the literature, in this work we investigate the holographic dark energy (HDE) model and the Ricci dark energy (RDE) model, which originate from the holographic principle of quantum gravity, using the simulated localized FRB data as a cosmological probe for the first time. We show that the Hubble constant $H_0$ can be constrained to about 2% precision in the HDE model with the Macquart relation of FRB by using 10000 accurately-localized FRBs combined with the current CMB data, which is similar to the precision of the SH0ES value. Using 10000 localized FRBs combined with the CMB data can achieve about 6% constraint on the dark-energy parameter $c$ in the HDE model, which is tighter than the current BAO data combined with CMB. We also study the combination of the FRB data and another low-redshift cosmological probe, i.e. gravitational wave (GW) standard siren data, with the purpose of measuring cosmological parameters independent of CMB. Although the parameter degeneracies inherent in FRB and in GW are rather different, we find that more than 10000 FRBs are demanded to effectively improve the constraints in the holographic dark energy models.
In this work, we use the simulated gravitational wave (GW) standard siren data from the future observation of the Einstein Telescope (ET) to constrain various dark energy cosmological models, including the $Lambda$CDM, $w$CDM, CPL, $alpha$DE, GCG, an d NGCG models. We also use the current mainstream cosmological electromagnetic observations, i.e., the cosmic microwave background anisotropies data, the baryon acoustic oscillations data, and the type Ia supernovae data, to constrain these models. We find that the GW standard siren data could tremendously improve the constraints on the cosmological parameters for all these dark energy models. For all the cases, the GW standard siren data can be used to break the parameter degeneracies generated by the current cosmological electromagnetic observational data. Therefore, it is expected that the future GW standard siren observation from the ET would play a crucial role in the cosmological parameter estimation in the future. The conclusion of this work is quite solid because it is based on the analysis for various dark energy models.
Phantom dark energy can produce amplified cosmic acceleration at late times, thus increasing the value of $H_0$ favored by CMB data and releasing the tension with local measurements of $H_0$. We show that the best fit value of $H_0$ in the context of the CMB power spectrum is degenerate with a constant equation of state parameter $w$, in accordance with the approximate effective linear equation $H_0 + 30.93; w - 36.47 = 0$ ($H_0$ in $km ; sec^{-1} ; Mpc^{-1}$). This equation is derived by assuming that both $Omega_{0 rm m}h^2$ and $d_A=int_0^{z_{rec}}frac{dz}{H(z)}$ remain constant (for invariant CMB spectrum) and equal to their best fit Planck/$Lambda$CDM values as $H_0$, $Omega_{0 rm m}$ and $w$ vary. For $w=-1$, this linear degeneracy equation leads to the best fit $H_0=67.4 ; km ; sec^{-1} ; Mpc^{-1}$ as expected. For $w=-1.22$ the corresponding predicted CMB best fit Hubble constant is $H_0=74 ; km ; sec^{-1} ; Mpc^{-1}$ which is identical with the value obtained by local distance ladder measurements while the best fit matter density parameter is predicted to decrease since $Omega_{0 rm m}h^2$ is fixed. We verify the above $H_0-w$ degeneracy equation by fitting a $w$CDM model with fixed values of $w$ to the Planck TT spectrum showing also that the quality of fit ($chi^2$) is similar to that of $Lambda$CDM. However, when including SnIa, BAO or growth data the quality of fit becomes worse than $Lambda$CDM when $w< -1$. Finally, we generalize the $H_0-w(z)$ degeneracy equation for $w(z)=w_0+w_1; z/(1+z)$ and identify analytically the full $w_0-w_1$ parameter region that leads to a best fit $H_0=74; km ; sec^{-1} ; Mpc^{-1}$ in the context of the Planck CMB spectrum. This exploitation of $H_0-w(z)$ degeneracy can lead to immediate identification of all parameter values of a given $w(z)$ parametrization that can potentially resolve the $H_0$ tension.
We determine constraints on spatially-flat tilted dynamical dark energy XCDM and $phi$CDM inflation models by analyzing Planck 2015 cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy data and baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) distance measurements. XCDM is a simple and widely used but physically inconsistent parameterization of dynamical dark energy, while the $phi$CDM model is a physically consistent one in which a scalar field $phi$ with an inverse power-law potential energy density powers the currently accelerating cosmological expansion. Both these models have one additional parameter compared to standard $Lambda$CDM and both better fit the TT + lowP + lensing + BAO data than does the standard tilted flat-$Lambda$CDM model, with $Delta chi^2 = -1.26 (-1.60)$ for the XCDM ($phi$CDM) model relative to the $Lambda$CDM model. While this is a 1.1$sigma$ (1.3$sigma$) improvement over standard $Lambda$CDM and so not significant, dynamical dark energy models cannot be ruled out. In addition, both dynamical dark energy models reduce the tension between the Planck 2015 CMB anisotropy and the weak lensing $sigma_8$ constraints.
The third-generation ground-based gravitational-wave (GW) detector, Cosmic Explorer (CE), is scheduled to start its observation in the 2030s. In this paper, we make a forecast for cosmological parameter estimation with gravitational-wave standard sir en observation from the CE. We use the simulated GW standard siren data of CE to constrain the $Lambda$CDM, $w$CDM and CPL models. We combine the simulated GW data with the current cosmological electromagnetic observations including the latest cosmic microwave background anisotropies data from Planck, the optical baryon acoustic oscillation measurements, and the type Ia supernovae observation (Pantheon compilation) to do the analysis. We find that the future standard siren observation from CE will improve the cosmological parameter estimation to a great extent, since the future GW standard siren data can well break the degeneracies generated by the optical observations between various cosmological parameters. We also find that the CEs constraining capability on the cosmological parameters is slightly better than that of the same-type GW detector, the Einstein Telescope. In addition, the synergy between the GW standard siren observation from CE and the 21 cm emission observation from SKA is also discussed.
