In literature one can find many generalizations of the usual Leibniz derivative, such as Jackson derivative, Tsallis derivative and Hausdorff derivative. In this article we present a connection between Jackson derivative and recently proposed Hausdorff derivative. On one hand, the Hausdorff derivative has been previously associated with non-extensivity in systems presenting fractal aspects. On the other hand, the Jackson derivative has a solid mathematical basis because it is the $overline{q}$-analog of the ordinary derivative and it also arises in quantum calculus. From a quantum deformed $overline{q}$-algebra we obtain the Jackson derivative and then address the problem of $N$ non-interacting quantum oscillators. We perform an expansion in the quantum grand partition function from which we obtain a relationship between the parameter $overline{q}$, related to Jackson derivative, and the parameters $zeta$ and $q$ related to Hausdorff derivative and Tsallis derivative, respectively.

We address the statistical mechanics of randomly and permanently crosslinked networks. We develop a theoretical framework (vulcanization theory) which can be used to systematically analyze the correlation between the statistical properties of random networks and their histories of formation. Generalizing the original idea of Deam and Edwards, we consider an instantaneous crosslinking process, where all crosslinkers (modeled as Gaussian springs) are introduced randomly at once in an equilibrium liquid state, referred to as the preparation state. The probability that two functional sites are crosslinked by a spring exponentially decreases with their distance squared. After formally averaging over network connectivity, we obtained an effective theory with all degrees of freedom replicated 1 + n times. Two thermodynamic ensembles, the preparation ensemble and the measurement ensemble, naturally appear in this theory. The former describes the thermodynamic fluctuations in the state of preparation, while the latter describes the thermodynamic fluctuations in the state of measurement. We classify various correlation functions and discuss their physical significances. In particular, the memory correlation functions characterize how the properties of networks depend on their history of formation, and are the hallmark properties of all randomly crosslinked materials. We clarify the essential difference between our approach and that of Deam-Edwards, discuss the saddle-point order parameters and its physical significance. Finally we also discuss the connection between saddle-point approximation of vulcanization theory, and the classical theory of rubber elasticity as well as the neo-classical theory of nematic elastomers.

The majority game, modelling a system of heterogeneous agents trying to behave in a similar way, is introduced and studied using methods of statistical mechanics. The stationary states of the game are given by the (local) minima of a particular Hopfi eld like hamiltonian. On the basis of a replica symmetric calculations, we draw the phase diagram, which contains the analog of a retrieval phase. The number of metastable states is estimated using the annealed approximation. The results are confronted with extensive numerical simulations.
Statistical mechanics of 1D multivalent Coulomb gas may be mapped onto non-Hermitian quantum mechanics. We use this example to develop instanton calculus on Riemann surfaces. Borrowing from the formalism developed in the context of Seiberg-Witten dua lity, we treat momentum and coordinate as complex variables. Constant energy manifolds are given by Riemann surfaces of genus $ggeq 1$. The actions along principal cycles on these surfaces obey ODE in the moduli space of the Riemann surface known as Picard-Fuchs equation. We derive and solve Picard-Fuchs equations for Coulomb gases of various charge content. Analysis of monodromies of these solutions around their singular points yields semiclassical spectra as well as instanton effects such as Bloch bandwidth. Both are shown to be in perfect agreement with numerical simulations.
After a brief review of the present status of nonextensive statistical mechanics, we present a conjectural scenario where mixing (characterized by the entropic index $q_{mix} le 1$) and equilibration (characterized by the entropic index $q_{eq} ge 1$ ) play central and inter-related roles, and appear to determine {it a priori} the values of the relevant indices of the formalism. Boltzmann-Gibbs statistical mechanics is recovered as the $q_{mix}=q_{eq}=1$ particular case.
