We suggest three new ${cal N}=1$ conformal dual pairs. First, we argue that the ${cal N}=2$ $E_6$ Minahan-Nemeschansky (MN) theory with a $USp(4)$ subgroup of the $E_6$ global symmetry conformally gauged with an ${cal N}=1$ vector multiplet and certain additional chiral multiplet matter resides at some cusp of the conformal manifold of an $SU(2)^5$ quiver gauge theory. Second, we argue that the ${cal N}=2$ $E_7$ MN theory with an $SU(2)$ subgroup of the $E_7$ global symmetry conformally gauged with an ${cal N}=1$ vector multiplet and certain additional chiral multiplet matter resides at some cusp of the conformal manifold of a conformal ${cal N}=1$ $USp(4)$ gauge theory. Finally, we claim that the ${cal N}=2$ $E_8$ MN theory with a $USp(4)$ subgroup of the $E_8$ global symmetry conformally gauged with an ${cal N}=1$ vector multiplet and certain additional chiral multiplet matter resides at some cusp of the conformal manifold of an ${cal N}=1$ $Spin(7)$ conformal gauge theory. We argue for the dualities using a variety of non-perturbative techniques including anomaly and index computations. The dualities can be viewed as ${cal N}=1$ analogues of ${cal N}=2$ Argyres-Seiberg/Argyres-Wittig duals of the $E_n$ MN models. We also briefly comment on an ${cal N}=1$ version of the Schur limit of the superconformal index.

We consider Abelian tensor hierarchy in four-dimensional ${cal N}=1$ supergravity in the conformal superspace formalism, where the so-called covariant approach is used to antisymmetric tensor fields. We introduce $p$-form gauge superfields as superfo rms in the conformal superspace. We solve the Bianchi identities under the constraints for the superforms. As a result, each of form fields is expressed by a single gauge invariant superfield. The action of superforms is shown with the invariant superfields. We also show the relation between the superspace formalism and the superconformal tensor calculus.
Type IIB string theory on a 5-sphere gives rise to ${cal N}=8, SO(6)$ gauged supergravity in five dimensions. Motivated by the fact that this is the context of the most widely studied example of the AdS/CFT correspondence, we undertake an investigati on of its critical points. The scalar manifold is an $E_{6(6)}/USp(8)$ coset, and the challenge is that it is 42-dimensional. We take a Machine Learning approach to the problem using TensorFlow, and this results in a substantial increase in the number of known critical points. Our list of 32 critical points contains all five of the previously known ones, including an ${cal N}=2$ supersymmetric point identified by Khavaev, Pilch and Warner.
In this letter we compute the exact effective superpotential of {cal N}=1 U(N) supersymmetric gauge theories with N_f fundamental flavors and an arbitrary tree-level polynomial superpotential for the adjoint Higgs field. We use the matrix model appro ach in the maximally confinig phase. When restricted to the case of a tree-level even polynomial superpotential, our computation reproduces the known result of the SU(N) theory.
We provide ${cal N}=1$ superfield description of BPS backgrounds in six-dimensional supergravity (6D SUGRA) with 3-branes, which is compactified on a two-dimensional space. The brane terms induce the localized fluxes. We find a useful gauge in which the background equations become significantly simple. This is not the Wess-Zumino gauge, and the relation to the usual component-field expression of 6D SUGRA is not straightforward. One of the equations reduces to the Liouville equation. By moving to the Wess-Zumino gauge, we check that our expressions reproduce the known results of the previous works, which are expressed in the component fields. Our results help us develop the systematic derivation of four-dimensional effective theories that keeps the ${cal N}=1$ SUSY structure.
We construct a family of warped AdS_5 compactifications of IIB supergravity that are the holographic duals of the complete set of N=1 fixed points of a Z_2 quiver gauge theory. This family interpolates between the T^{1,1} compactification with no thr ee-form flux and the Z_2 orbifold of the Pilch-Warner geometry which contains three-form flux. This family of solutions is constructed by making the most general Ansatz allowed by the symmetries of the field theory. We use Killing spinor methods because the symmetries impose two simple projection conditions on the Killing spinors, and these greatly reduce the problem. We see that generic interpolating solution has a nontrivial dilaton in the internal five-manifold. We calculate the central charge of the gauge theories from the supergravity backgrounds and find that it is 27/32 of the parent N=2, quiver gauge theory. We believe that the projection conditions that we derived here will be useful for a much larger class of N=1 holographic RG-flows.
