We report an analysis of two poorly studied systems GSC 04396-00605 and GSC 04395-00485, which were recently named as V0455 Dra and V0454 Dra, respectively. For two eclipsing stars, the periods and epochs were significantly corrected using our extensive data. The phenomenological characteristics of the mean light curves were determined using the New Algol Variable (NAV) algorithm. The individual times of Maxima/Minima (ToM) were determined using the newly developed software MAVKA, which outputs the accurate parameters using the asymptotic parabola approximations. The light curves were approximated using the Wilson-Devinney model, the best fit parameters are listed. For both systems, the presence of the dark spot is justified, the parameters are estimated. Both systems classified to be overcontact binaries of EW type. The observations were obtained using the 1-m Korean telescope of the LOAO while monitoring the cataclysmic variable DO Dra within the Inter-Longitude Astronomy (ILA) project.

We present new photometric and spectroscopic observations and analyses for the eclipsing binary systems V1241 Tau and GQ Dra. Our photometric light and radial velocity curves analyses combining with the TESS light curves show that both are convention al semi-detached binary systems. Their absolute parameters are also derived. We present the $O-C$ analyses of the systems and we propose the most possible orbital period modulating mechanisms. Furthermore, Fourier analyses are applied to the photometric residual data of the systems to check for the pulsational behavior of the components. We conclude that the primary component of the system GQ Dra is a $delta$ Sct type pulsator with a dominant pulsation frequency of 18.58 d$^{-1}$ based on our $B$ filter residual light curve although it can not be justified by 30-minute cadence TESS data. No satisfactory evidence of pulsational behaviour for V1241 Tau was verified. Finally, the evolutionary tracks of the components of both systems are calculated, while their locations within evolutionary diagrams are compared with other Algol-type systems.

We present a comprehensive photometric study of the pulsating, eclipsing binary OO Dra. Simultaneous B- and V-band photometry of the star was carried out on 14 nights. Revised orbital period and a new ephemeris were derived from the data. The first p hotometric solution of the binary system and the physical parameters of the component stars are determined. It reveals that OO Dra could be a detached system with the less-massive secondary component nearly filling in its Roche lobe. By subtracting the eclipsing light changes from the data, we obtained the intrinsic pulsating light curves of the hotter and massive primary component. Frequency analysis of the residuals light yields two confident pulsation modes in both B- and V-band data with the dominant frequency detected at 41.865 c/d. A brief discussion concerning the evolutionary status and the pulsation nature of the binary system is finally given.

We present XMM-Newton observations of the eclipsing polar EP Dra which cover nearly 3 binary orbital cycles. The X-ray and UV data show evidence for a prominent dip before the eclipse which is due to the accretion stream obscuring the accretion regio n. The dip ingress is rapid in hard X-rays suggesting there is a highly collimated core of absorption. We find that a different level of absorption column density is required to match the observed count rates in different energy bands. We propose that this is due to the fact that different absorption components should be used to model the reprocessed X-rays, the shocked X-ray component and the UV emission and explore the affect that this has on the resulting fits to the spectrum. Further, there is evidence that absorption starts to obscure the softer X-rays shortly after the onset of the bright phase. This suggests that material is threaded by an unusually wide range of magnetic field lines, consistent with the suggestion of Bridge et al. We find that the period is slightly greater than that determined by Schwope & Mengel.

We present low-resolution phase-resolved spectra of the polar MT Dra during its high states in 2006 and 2009. Balmer series, He I and He II 4686 AA emission lines have complex shapes and show similar profile variations over an orbital cycle. The radi al velocities vary with orbital period and display motions of the gas falling close to the magnetic poles of the white dwarf.

We present the first high time resolution light curves for six eclipses of the magnetic cataclysmic variable EP Dra, taken using the superconducting tunnel junction imager S-Cam2. The system shows a varying eclipse profile between consecutive eclipse s over the two nights of observation. We attribute the variable stream eclipse after accretion region ingress to a variation in the amount and location of bright material in the accretion stream. This material creates an accretion curtain as it is threaded by many field lines along the accretion stream trajectory. We identify this as the cause of absorption evident in the light curves when the system is in a high accretion state. We do not see direct evidence in the light curves for an accretion spot on the white dwarf; however, the variation of the stream brightness with the brightness of the rapid decline in flux at eclipse ingress indicates the presence of some form of accretion region. This accretion region is most likely located at high colatitude on the white dwarf surface, forming an arc shape at the foot points of the many field lines channeling the accretion curtain.
