The Zagier $L$-series encode data of real quadratic fields. We study the average size of these $L$-series, and prove asymptotic expansions and omega results for the expansion. We then show how the error term in the asymptotic expansion can be used to obtain error terms in the prime geodesic theorem.
Let $ Lambda $ denote von Mangoldts function, and consider the averages begin{align*} A_N f (x) &=frac{1}{N}sum_{1leq n leq N}f(x-n)Lambda(n) . end{align*} We prove sharp $ ell ^{p}$-improving for these averages, and sparse bounds for the maximal fun
ction. The simplest inequality is that for sets $ F, Gsubset [0,N]$ there holds begin{equation*} N ^{-1} langle A_N mathbf 1_{F} , mathbf 1_{G} rangle ll frac{lvert Frvert cdot lvert Grvert} { N ^2 } Bigl( operatorname {Log} frac{lvert Frvert cdot lvert Grvert} { N ^2 } Bigr) ^{t}, end{equation*} where $ t=2$, or assuming the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis, $ t=1$. The corresponding sparse bound is proved for the maximal function $ sup_N A_N mathbf 1_{F}$. The inequalities for $ t=1$ are sharp. The proof depends upon the Circle Method, and an interpolation argument of Bourgain.
Differentiable real function reproducing primes up to a given number and having a differentiable inverse function is constructed. This inverse function is compared with the Riemann-Von Mangoldt exact expression for the number of primes not exceeding
a given value. Software for computation of the direct and inverse functions and their derivatives is developed. Examples of approximate solution of Diophantine equations on the primes are given.
In this note, we give a detailed proof of an asymptotic for averages of coefficients of a class of degree three $L$-functions which can be factorized as a product of a degree one and a degree two $L$-functions. We emphasize that we can break the $1/2
$-barrier in the error term, and we get an explicit exponent.
We discuss the computation of coefficients of the L-series associated to a hyperelliptic curve over Q of genus at most 3, using point counting, generic group algorithms, and p-adic methods.
We prove the asymptotic formula for the fourth moment of automorphic $L$-functions of level $p^{ u}$, where $p$ is a fixed prime number and $ u rightarrow infty$. This paper is a continuation of work by Rouymi, who computed asymptotics of the first t
hree moments at prime power level, and a generalization of results obtained for prime level by Duke, Friedlander & Iwaniec and Kowalski, Michel & Vanderkam.
