We present a holographic analysis of diffractive photoproducton of charmonium $J/psi$ and upsilonium $Upsilon$ on a proton, considered as a bulk Dirac fermion, for all ranges of $sqrt{s}$, i.e., from near threshold to very high energy. Using the bulk wave functions of the proton and vector mesons, within holographic QCD, and employing Witten diagrams in the bulk, we compute the diffractive photoproduction amplitude of $J/psi$ and $Upsilon$. The holographic amplitude shows elements of the strictures of vector meson dominance (VMD). It is dominated by the exchange of a massive graviton or $2^{++}$ glueball resonances near threshold, and its higher spin-j counterparts that reggeize at higher energies. Both the differential and total cross sections are controlled by the gravitational form factor $A(t)$, and compare well to the recent results reported by the GlueX collaboration near threshold and the world data at large $sqrt{s}$. The holographic gravitational form factors, including the D-term, which is due to the exchange of massive spin-0 glueballs, are in good agreement with lattice simulations. We use it to extract the holographic pressure and shear forces inside the proton. Finally, using a pertinent integral representation of the holographic gravitational form factor $A(t)$ near threshold, and its Pomeron counterpart way above threshold, we extract the generalized parton distribution (GPD) of gluons inside the proton at different resolutions.

We discuss unpolarized neutrino- and anti-neutrino-nucleon deep inelastic scattering (DIS) using a chiral doublet of baryonic sources with explicit symmetry breaking, in a slice of AdS$_5$ with both a hard and soft wall. We explicitly derive the dire ct and transition form factors for the vector and axial-vector currents for the holographic dual of a proton and neutron. We use them to derive the s-channel structure functions for neutrino and anti-neutrino scattering on a proton and neutron in bulk. The t-channel contributions stemming from the Pomeron and Reggeon exchanges are also evaluated explicitly. The pertinent even and odd structure functions in the limit of large and small parton momentum fraction $x$ are given. The results allow for the extraction of the nonperterbative parton distribution functions carried by the sea and valence quarks both at large-x and small-x regimes. Our holographic PDF sets compare well with LHAPDF and CTEQ PDF sets in the large-x and small-x regimes in the intermediate range of $Q^2<10~rm{GeV^2}$.
We analyze contributions to the heavy vector meson production with large transverse momentum in proton--proton and diffractive photon--proton scattering driven by an exchange of two Balitsky--Fadin--Kuraev--Lipatov Pomerons in the squared amplitudes. The Pomerons couple to a single parton and form a Pomeron loop closed by the vector meson impact factors. For the photon--proton case the diffractive cut of the Pomeron loop contributes, and for the inclusive hadroproduction one finds the loop with two cut Pomerons. We compute both of these Pomeron loop contributions and study in detail their properties. The results are then used to calculate the cross sections for diffractive $J/psi$ photoproduction with large transverse momentum at HERA and the correlated two Pomeron contribution for inclusive $J/psi$ and $Upsilon$ production cross sections at the LHC. Within a unified approach a good description of the photoproduction data is found, but correlated two Pomeron mechanism gives only a small contribution to hadroproduction of the vector mesons at the LHC.
We discuss diffractive photon-production of vector mesons in holographic QCD. At large $sqrt{s}$, the QCD scattering amplitudes are reduced to the scattering of pair of dipoles exchanging a closed string or a pomeron. We use the holographic construct ion in AdS$_5$ to describe both the intrinsic dipole distribution in each hadron, and the pomeron exchange. Our results for the heavy meson photon-production are made explicit and compared to some existing experiments.

We study diffractive photoproduction of $J/psi$ by taking the charm quark as a heavy quark. A description of nonperturbative effect related to $J/psi$ can be made by using NRQCD. In the forward region of the kinematics, the interaction between the $c bar c$-pair and the initial hadron is due to exchange of soft gluons. The effect of the exchange can be studied by using the expansion in the inverse of the quark mass $m_c$. At the leading order we find that the nonperturbative effect related to the initial hadron is represented by a matrix element of field strength operators, which are separated in the moving direction of $J/psi$ in the space-time. The S-matrix element is then obtained without using perturbative QCD and the results are not based on any model. Corrections to the results can be systematically added. Keeping the dominant contribution of the S-matrix element in the large energy limit we find that the imaginary part of the S-matrix element is related to the gluon distribution for $xto 0$ with a reasonable assumption, the real part can be obtained with another approximation or with dispersion relation. Our approach is different than previous approaches and also our results are different than those in these approaches. The differences are discussed in detail. A comparison with experiment is also made and a qualitative agreement is found.
The electromagnetic form factors of the proton are obtained using a particular realization of QCD in the large $N_c$ limit (${QCD}_{infty}$), which sums up the infinite number of zero-width resonances to yield an Eulers Beta function (Dual-${QCD}_{in fty}$). The form factors $F_1(q^2)$ and $F_2(q^2)$, as well as $G_M(q^2)$ agree very well with reanalyzed space-like data in the whole range of momentum transfer. In addition, the predicted ratio $mu_p G_E/G_M$ is in good agreement with recent polarization transfer measurements at Jefferson Lab.
