We demonstrate the first transmission of a new twelve-dimensional modulation format over a three-core coupled-core multicore fiber. The format occupies a single time slot spread across all three linearly-coupled spatial modes and shows improved MI and GMI after transmission compared to PDM-QPSK.

We demonstrate 1 Tbit/s/$lambda$ single-span transmission over a heterogeneous link consisting of graded-index 50 $mu$m core multi-mode fiber and 6LP few-mode fiber using a Kramers-Kronig receiver structure. Furthermore, the link budget increase by t ransmitting only three modes while employing more than three receivers is investigated.
We investigate analytically the coupling of a coplanar waveguide resonator to a coplanar waveguide feedline. Using a conformal mapping technique we obtain an expression for the characteristic mode impedances and coupling coefficients of an asymmetric multi-conductor transmission line. Leading order terms for the external quality factor and frequency shift are calculated. The obtained analytical results are relevant for designing circuit-QED quantum systems and frequency division multiplexing of superconducting bolometers, detectors and similar microwave-range multi-pixel devices.

We report order-of-magnitude improvements in performance of field-deployable hollow-core fiber cables evidenced by a 38.4Tb/s (800Gb/s-x-48WDM-channels) 20.5km lab-trial using commercial terminal equipment and the demonstration of 1128km/126km reach in full-fill 400/800Gb/s WDM recirculating-loop experiments.
We experimentally demonstrate the impact of inter-core crosstalk in multicore fibers on 56Gbaud PAM-4 signal quality after 2.5-km transmission over a weakly-coupled and uncoupled sevencore fibers, revealing the crosstalk dependence on carrier central wavelength in range of 1540-1560 nm.
We present 850 $mu$m imaging polarimetry data of the $rho$ Oph-A core taken with the Submillimeter Common-User Bolometer Array-2 (SCUBA-2) and its polarimeter (POL-2), as part of our ongoing survey project, BISTRO (B-fields In STar forming RegiOns). The polarization vectors are used to identify the orientation of the magnetic field projected on the plane of the sky at a resolution of 0.01 pc. We identify 10 subregions with distinct polarization fractions and angles in the 0.2 pc $rho$ Oph A core; some of them can be part of a coherent magnetic field structure in the $rho$ Oph region. The results are consistent with previous observations of the brightest regions of $rho$ Oph-A, where the degrees of polarization are at a level of a few percents, but our data reveal for the first time the magnetic field structures in the fainter regions surrounding the core where the degree of polarization is much higher ($> 5 %$). A comparison with previous near-infrared polarimetric data shows that there are several magnetic field components which are consistent at near-infrared and submillimeter wavelengths. Using the Davis-Chandrasekhar-Fermi method, we also derive magnetic field strengths in several sub-core regions, which range from approximately 0.2 to 5 mG. We also find a correlation between the magnetic field orientations projected on the sky with the core centroid velocity components.
