In this paper we extend the nonabelian mirror proposal of two of the authors from two-dimensional gauge theories with connected gauge groups to the case of O(k) gauge groups with discrete theta angles. We check our proposed extension by counting and comparing vacua in mirrors to known dual two-dimensional (S)O(k) gauge theories. The mirrors in question are Landau-Ginzburg orbifolds, and for mirrors to O(k) gauge theories, the critical loci of the mirror superpotential often intersect fixed-point loci, so that to count vacua, one must take into account twisted sector contributions. This is a technical novelty relative to mirrors of gauge theories with connected gauge groups, for which critical loci do not intersect fixed-point loci and so no orbifold twisted sector contributions are pertinent. The vacuum computations turn out to be a rather intricate test of the proposed mirrors, in particular as untwisted sector states in the mirror to one theory are often exchanged with twisted sector states in the mirror to the dual. In cases with nontrivial IR limits, we also check that central charges computed from the Landau-Ginzburg mirrors match those expected for the IR SCFTs.

We propose Picard-Fuchs equations for periods of nonabelian mirrors in this paper. The number of parameters in our Picard-Fuchs equations is the rank of the gauge group of the nonabelian GLSM, which is eventually reduced to the actual number of K{a}h ler parameters. These Picard-Fuchs equations are concise and novel. We justify our proposal by reproducing existing mathematical results, namely Picard-Fuchs equations of Grassmannians and Calabi-Yau manifolds as complete intersections in Grassmannians. Furthermore, our approach can be applied to other nonabelian GLSMs, so we compute Picard-Fuchs equations of some other Fano-spaces, which were not calculated in the literature before. Finally, the cohomology-valued generating functions of mirrors can be read off from our Picard-Fuchs equations. Using these generating functions, we compute Gromov-Witten invariants of various Calabi-Yau manifolds, including complete intersection Calabi-Yau manifolds in Grassmannians and non-complete intersection Calabi-Yau examples such as Pfaffian Calabi-Yau threefold and Gulliksen-Neg{aa}rd Calabi-Yau threefold, and find agreement with existing results in the literature. The generating functions we propose for non-complete intersection Calabi-Yau manifolds are genuinely new.

The nonabelian global chiral symmetries of the two-dimensional N flavour massless Schwinger model are realised through bosonisation and a vertex operator construction.
We elaborate on how to build, in a systematic fashion, two-field Abelian extensions of the Born-Infeld Lagrangian. These models realize the non-trivial duality groups that are allowed in this case, namely U(2), SU(2) and U(1)xU(1). For each class, we also construct an explicit example. They all involve an overall square root and reduce to the Born-Infeld model if the two fields are identified, but differ in quartic and higher interactions. The U(1)xU(1) and SU(2) examples recover some recent results obtained with different techniques, and we show that the U(1)xU(1) model admits an N=1 supersymmetric completion. The U(2) example includes some unusual terms that are not analytic at the origin of field space.
In this work, we study the behavior of the nonabelian five-dimensional Chern-Simons term at finite temperature regime in order to verify the possible nonanalyticity. We employ two methods, a perturbative and a non-perturbative one. No scheme of regul arization is needed, and we verify the nonanalyticity of the self-energy of the photon in the origin of momentum space by two conditions that do not commute, namely, the static limit $(k_0=0,vec krightarrow 0)$ and the long wavelength limit $(k_0rightarrow 0,vec k= 0)$, while its tensorial structure holds in both limits.
We use the superspace formulation of supergravity in eleven and ten dimensions to compute fermion couplings on the M2-brane and on D$p$-branes. In this formulation fermionic couplings arise naturally from the $theta$-expansion of the superfields from which the brane actions are constructed. The techniques we use and develop can in principle be applied to determine the fermionic couplings to general background fields up to arbitrary order. Starting with the superspace formulation of 11-dimensional supergravity, we use a geometric technique known as the `normal coordinate method to obtain the $theta$-expansion of the M2-brane action. We then present a method which allows us to translate the knowledge of fermionic couplings on the M2-brane to knowledge of such couplings on the D2-brane, and then to any D$p$-brane. This method is based on superspace generalizations of both the compactification taking 11-dimensional supergravity to type IIA supergravity and the T-duality rules connecting the type IIA and type IIB supergravities.
