The central result about fast rotating-flow structures is the Taylor-Proudman theorem (TPT) which connects various aspects of the dynamics. Taylors geometrical proof of TPT is reproduced and extended substantially, with Lies theory for general frozen-in laws and the consequent generalized invariant circulation theorems, to compressible flows and to $d$-dimensional Euclidean space ($mathbb{E}^{d}$) with $dge 3$. The TPT relatives, the reduced models (with particular interests on passive-scalar problems), the inertial (resonant) waves and the higher-order corrections, are discussed coherently for a comprehensive bird view of rotating flows in high spatial dimensions.

The notion of singular reduction operators, i.e., of singular operators of nonclassical (conditional) symmetry, of partial differential equations in two independent variables is introduced. All possible reductions of these equations to first-order OD Es are are exhaustively described. As examples, properties of singular reduction operators of (1+1)-dimensional evolution and wave equations are studied. It is shown how to favourably enhance the derivation of nonclassical symmetries for this class by an in-depth prior study of the corresponding singular vector fields.

In this paper we prove existence, uniqueness and regularity of certain perturbed (subsonic--supersonic) transonic potential flows in a two-dimensional Riemannian manifold with convergent-divergent metric, which is an approximate model of the de Laval nozzle in aerodynamics. The result indicates that transonic flows obtained by quasi-one-dimensional flow model in fluid dynamics are stable with respect to the perturbation of the velocity potential function at the entry (i.e., tangential velocity along the entry) of the nozzle. The proof is based upon linear theory of elliptic-hyperbolic mixed type equations in physical space and a nonlinear iteration method.
We consider co-rotational wave maps from Minkowski space in $d+1$ dimensions to the $d$-sphere. Recently, Bizon and Biernat found explicit self-similar solutions for each dimension $dgeq 4$. We give a rigorous proof for the mode stability of these self-similar wave maps.
We consider the wave equation with a focusing cubic nonlinearity in higher odd space dimensions without symmetry restrictions on the data. We prove that there exists an open set of initial data such that the corresponding solution exists in a backwar d light-cone and approaches the ODE blowup profile.
We consider the compressible Navier--Stokes equation in a perturbed half-space with an outflow boundary condition as well as the supersonic condition. For a half-space, it has been known that a certain planar stationary solution exist and it is time- asymptotically stable. The planar stationary solution is independent of the tangential directions and its velocities of the tangential directions are zero. In this paper, we show the unique existence of stationary solutions for the perturbed half-space. The feature of our work is that our stationary solution depends on all directions and has multidirectional flow. Furthermore, we also prove the asymptotic stability of this stationary solution.
