Based on the numerical solution of the quantum lattice Boltzmann method in curved space, we predict the onset of a quantized alternating current on curved graphene sheets. Such numerical prediction is verified analytically via a set of semi-classical equations relating the Berry curvature to real space curvature. The proposed quantised oscillating current on curved graphene could form the basis for the implementation of quantum information processing algorithms.

We investigate the relation between the canonical model of quantum optics, the Jaynes-Cummings Hamiltonian and Dirac fermions in quantizing magnetic field. We demonstrate that Rabi oscillations are observable in the optical response of graphene, prov iding us with a transparent picture about the structure of optical transitions. While the longitudinal conductivity reveals chaotic Rabi oscillations, the Hall component measures coherent ones. This opens up the possibility of investigating a microscopic model of a few quantum objects in a macroscopic experiment with tunable parameters.

The generation of ac modulated quantized current waveforms using a semiconductor non-adiabatic single electron pump is demonstrated. In standard operation the single electron pump generates a quantized output current of I = ef where e is the charge o f the electron and f is the pumping frequency. Suitable frequency modulation of f allows the generation of ac modulated output currents with different characteristics. By sinusoidal and saw tooth like modulation of f accordingly modulated quantized current waveforms with kHz modulation frequencies and peak currents up to 100 pA are obtained. Such ac quantized current sources could find applications ranging from precision ac metrology to on-chip signal generation.
Three dimensionally curved graphene with a wide range of curvature radii from 25 nm to 1000 nm demonstrates that nano-scale curvature is a new degree of freedom to tune the transport properties of graphene by manipulating 2D electron kinetics on 3D curved surfaces.
The universal quantization of thermal conductance provides information on the topological order of a state beyond electrical conductance. Such measurements have become possible only recently, and have discovered, in particular, that the value of the observed thermal conductance of the 5/2 state is not consistent with either the Pfaffian or the anti-Pfaffian model, motivating several theoretical articles. The analysis of the experiments has been made complicated by the presence of counter-propagating edge channels arising from edge reconstruction, an inevitable consequence of separating the dopant layer from the GaAs quantum well. In particular, it has been found that the universal quantization requires thermalization of downstream and upstream edge channels. Here we measure the thermal conductance in hexagonal boron nitride encapsulated graphene devices of sizes much smaller than the thermal relaxation length of the edge states. We find the quantization of thermal conductance within 5% accuracy for { u} = 1, 4/3, 2 and 6 plateaus and our results strongly suggest the absence of edge reconstruction for fractional quantum Hall in graphene, making it uniquely suitable for interference phenomena exploiting paths of exotic quasiparticles along the edge.
We study the quantization of Dirac fermions in lithographically defined graphene nanoconstrictions. We observe quantized conductance in single nanoconstrictions fabricated on top of a thin hexamethyldisilazane layer over a Si/SiO_2 wafer. This nanofa brication method allows us to obtain well defined edges in the nanoconstrictions, thus reducing the effects of edge roughness on the conductance. We prove the occurrence of ballistic transport and identify several size quantization plateaus in the conductance at low temperature. Experimental data and numerical simulations show good agreement, demonstrating that the smoothing of the plateaus is not related to edge roughness but to quantum interference effects.
