We present an analysis of the recent measurement of $eta$-meson production by two virtual photons made by BaBar collaboration. It is the first measurement of a transition form factor which is entirely within the kinematic regime of the collinear factorization approach and thus provides a clean test of QCD factorization theorem for distribution amplitudes (DAs). We demonstrate that the data is in agreement with the perturbative QCD. Also, we show that it is sensitive to power corrections to the factorization theorem and to the decay constants. We discuss features of the meson production cross-section and point out the kinematic regions that are sensitive to interesting physics. We also provide an estimation of uncertainties on the extraction of DA parameters.

This year marks the thirtieth anniversary of the only supernova from which we have detected neutrinos - SN 1987A. The twenty or so neutrinos that were detected were mined to great depth in order to determine the events that occurred in the explosion and to place limits upon all manner of neutrino properties. Since 1987 the scale and sensitivity of the detectors capable of identifying neutrinos from a Galactic supernova have grown considerably so that current generation detectors are capable of detecting of order ten thousand neutrinos for a supernova at the Galactic Center. Next generation detectors will increase that yield by another order of magnitude. Simultaneous with the growth of neutrino detection capability, our understanding of how massive stars explode and how the neutrino interacts with hot and dense matter has also increased by a tremendous degree. The neutrino signal will contain much information on all manner of physics of interest to a wide community. In this review we describe the expected features of the neutrino signal, the detectors which will detect it, and the signatures one might try to look for in order to get at these physics.

We provide a theoretical update of the calculations of the pi0-gamma*-gamma form factor in the LCSR framework, including up to six polynomials in the conformal expansion of the pion distribution amplitude and taking into account twist-six corrections related to the photon emission at large distances. The results are compared with the calculations of the B-> pi l nu decay and pion electromagnetic form factors in the same framework. Our conclusion is that the recent BaBar measurements of the pi0-gamma*-gamma form factor at large momentum transfers are consistent with QCD, although they do suggest that the pion DA may have more structure than usually assumed.
The gamma(*) pi(0) -> gamma form factor is obtained within the Lagrangian quark model with separable interaction known to provide a good description of the pion observables at low energies. The pion-quarks vertex is chosen in a Gaussian form. The for m factor obtained is close to the available experimental data and reaches smoothly the Brodsky-Lepage limit at Q2 = 10 GeV2.

The KLOE results on the measurement of the transition form factors of the eta and pi0 mesons in phi Dalitz decays are presented, and the determination of the Gamma(eta->gamma gamma) in gamma gamma processes is also reported. The prospects for gamma g amma physics of the new data-taking, started in November 2014 with the upgraded detector, are reviewed.
We report a measurement of the process gamma gamma* --> pi0 with a 759 fb^{-1} data sample recorded with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The pion transition form factor, F(Q^2), is measured for the kinematical region 4 GeV^2 <~ Q^2 <~ 40 GeV^2, where -Q^2 is the invariant mass squared of a virtual photon. The measured values of Q^2|F(Q^2)| agree well with the previous measurements below Q^2 ~= 9 GeV^2 but do not exhibit the rapid growth in the higher Q^2 region seen in another recent measurement, which exceeds the asymptotic QCD expectation by as much as 50%.
