By a Cantor-like measure we mean the unique self-similar probability measure $mu $ satisfying $mu =sum_{i=0}^{m-1}p_{i}mu circ S_{i}^{-1}$ where $% S_{i}(x)=frac{x}{d}+frac{i}{d}cdot frac{d-1}{m-1}$ for integers $2leq d<mle 2d-1$ and probabilities $p_{i}>0$, $sum p_{i}=1$. In the uniform case ($p_{i}=1/m$ for all $i$) we show how one can compute the entropy and Hausdorff dimension to arbitrary precision. In the non-uniform case we find bounds on the entropy.

In this paper, we are going to discuss the following problem: Let $T$ be a fixed set in $mathbb{R}^n$. And let $S$ and $B$ he two subsets in $mathbb{R}^n$ such that for any $x$ in $S$, there exists an $r$ such that $x+ r T$ is a subset of $B$. How sm all can be $B$ be if we know the size of $S$? Stein proved that for $n$ is greater than or equal to 3 and $T$ is a sphere centered at origin, then $S$ has positive measure implies $B$ has positive measure using spherical maximal operator. Later, Bourgain and Marstrand proved the similar result for $n =2$. And we found an example for why the result fails for $n=1$.

We consider a minimal equicontinuous action of a finitely generated group $G$ on a Cantor set $X$ with invariant probability measure $mu$, and stabilizers of points for such an action. We give sufficient conditions under which there exists a subgroup $H$ of $G$ such that the set of points in $X$ whose stabilizers are conjugate to $H$ has full measure. The conditions are that the action is locally quasi-analytic and locally non-degenerate. An action is locally quasi-analytic if its elements have unique extensions on subsets of uniform diameter. The condition that the action is locally non-degenerate is introduced in this paper. We apply our results to study the properties of invariant random subgroups induced by minimal equicontinuous actions on Cantor sets and to certain almost one-to-one extensions of equicontinuous actions.

We study the orthogonal polynomials associated with the equilibrium measure, in logarithmic potential theory, living on the attractor of an Iterated Function System. We construct sequences of discrete measures, that converge weakly to the equilibrium measure, and we compute their Jacobi matrices via standard procedures, suitably enhanced for the scope. Numerical estimates of the convergence rate to the limit Jacobi matrix are provided, that show stability and efficiency of the whole procedure. As a secondary result, we also compute Jacobi matrices of equilibrium measures on finite sets of intervals, and of balanced measures of Iterated Function Systems. These algorithms can reach large orders: we study the asymptotic behavior of the orthogonal polynomials and we show that they can be used to efficiently compute Greens functions and conformal mappings of interest in constructive function theory.
We study the Gromov waist in the sense of $t$-neighborhoods for measures in the Euclidean space, motivated by the famous theorem of Gromov about the waist of radially symmetric Gaussian measures. In particular, it turns our possible to extend Gromovs original result to the case of not necessarily radially symmetric Gaussian measure. We also provide examples of measures having no $t$-neighborhood waist property, including a rather wide class of compactly supported radially symmetric measures and their maps into the Euclidean space of dimension at least 2. We use a simpler form of Gromovs pancake argument to produce some estimates of $t$-neighborhoods of (weighted) volume-critical submanifolds in the spirit of the waist theorems, including neighborhoods of algebraic manifolds in the complex projective space. For readers convenience, in one appendix of this paper we provide a more detailed explanation of the Caffarelli theorem that we use to handle not necessarily radially symmetric Gaussian measures. In the other appendix, we provide a comparison of different variations of Gromovs pancake method.

In this paper, we use the linear programming approach to find new upper bounds for the moments of isotropic measures. These bounds are then utilized for finding lower packing bounds and energy bounds for projective codes. We also show that the obtain ed energy bounds are sharp for several infinite families of codes.
