The main goal of the FAMU experiment is the measurement of the hyperfine splitting (hfs) in the 1S state of muonic hydrogen $Delta E_{hfs}(mu^-p)1S$. The physical process behind this experiment is the following: $mu p$ are formed in a mixture of hydrogen and a higher-Z gas. When absorbing a photon at resonance-energy $Delta E_{hfs}approx0.182$~eV, in subsequent collisions with the surrounding $H_2$ molecules, the $mu p$ is quickly de-excited and accelerated by $sim2/3$ of the excitation energy. The observable is the time distribution of the K-lines X-rays emitted from the $mu Z$ formed by muon transfer $(mu p) +Z rightarrow (mu Z)^*+p$, a reaction whose rate depends on the $mu p$ kinetic energy. The maximal response, to the tuned laser wavelength, of the time distribution of X-ray from K-lines of the $(mu Z)^*$ cascade indicate the resonance. During the preparatory phase of the FAMU experiment, several measurements have been performed both to validate the methodology and to prepare the best configuration of target and detectors for the spectroscopic measurement. We present here the crucial study of the energy dependence of the transfer rate from muonic hydrogen to oxygen ($Lambda_{mu p rightarrow mu O}$), precisely measured for the first time.

The direct $C!P$ asymmetries of the decays $B^0 rightarrow K^{*0} mu^+ mu^-$ and $B^+ rightarrow K^{+} mu^+ mu^-$ are measured using $pp$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0$mbox{fb}^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb detector. The respective control modes $B^0 rightarrow J/psi K^{*0}$ and $B^+ rightarrow J/psi K^{+}$ are used to account for detection and production asymmetries. The measurements are made in several intervals of $mu^+ mu^-$ invariant mass squared, with the $phi(1020)$ and charmonium resonance regions excluded. Under the hypothesis of zero $C!P$ asymmetry in the control modes, the average values of the asymmetries are begin{align} {cal A}_{C!P}(B^0 rightarrow K^{*0} mu^+ mu^-) &= -0.035 pm 0.024 pm 0.003, cr {cal A}_{C!P}(B^+ rightarrow K^{+} mu^+ mu^-) &= phantom{-}0.012 pm 0.017 pm 0.001, end{align} where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are due to systematic effects. Both measurements are consistent with the Standard Model prediction of small $C!P$ asymmetry in these decays.

Transitions of the type $b to s l^+ l^-$ are flavour changing neutral current processes where new physics can enter in competing loop diagrams with respect to the Standard Model contributions. In these decays several observables sensitive to new phys ics, and where theoretical uncertainties are under control, can be constructed. Particularly interesting are the angular asymmetries in the decay $B_d to K^* mu^+ mu^-$ and the measurement of the branching fraction of the decays $B_{s,d} to mu^+ mu^-$. Recent measurements of these observables and the measurement of the isospin asymmetry in the decays $B to K^{(*)} mu^+ mu^-$ are presented.
A search for the rare leptonic decay $B^{+} rightarrow {mu}^{+}{mu}^{-}{mu}^{+}{ u}_{{mu}}$ is performed using proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $4.7$ fb$^{-1}$ collected by the LHCb experiment. The search is c arried out in the region where the lowest of the two ${mu}^{+}{mu}^{-}$ mass combinations is below $980$MeV/c$^{2}$. The data are consistent with the background-only hypothesis and an upper limit of $1.6 times 10^{-8}$ at 95% confidence level is set on the branching fraction in the stated kinematic region.
Using $4.48 times 10^{8}$ $psi(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector, we search for the decays $chi_{cJ} rightarrow mu^{+}mu^{-}J/psi$ through the radiative decays $psi(3686) rightarrow gammachi_{cJ}$, where $J=0,1,2$. The decays $chi_{c1, 2} rightarrow mu^{+}mu^{-}J/psi$ are observed, and the corresponding branching fractions are measured to be $mathcal{B}(chi_{c1} rightarrow mu^{+}mu^{-}J/psi) = (2.51 pm 0.18 pm 0.20)times10^{-4}$ and $mathcal{B}(chi_{c2} rightarrow mu^{+}mu^{-}J/psi) = (2.33 pm 0.18 pm 0.29)times10^{-4}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second one systematic. No significant $chi_{c0} rightarrow mu^{+}mu^{-}J/psi$ decay is observed, and the upper limit on the branching fraction is determined to be $2.0times10^{-5}$ at 90% confidence level. Also, we present a study of di-muon invariant mass dependent transition form factor for the decays $chi_{c1,2} rightarrow mu^{+}mu^{-}J/psi$.
The ratios of the branching fractions of the decays $Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p pi^{-} pi^{+}$, $Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p K^{-} K^{+}$, and $Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p pi^{-} K^{+}$ with respect to the Cabibbo-favoured $Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p K^{-} pi^{+}$ decay are measured using proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb experiment at a 7 TeV centre-of-mass energy and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb$^{-1}$: begin{align*} frac{mathcal{B}(Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p pi^{-} pi^{+})}{mathcal{B}(Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p K^{-} pi^{+})} & = (7.44 pm 0.08 pm 0.18),%, frac{mathcal{B}(Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p K^{-} K^{+})}{mathcal{B}(Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p K^{-} pi^{+})} &= (1.70 pm 0.03 pm 0.03),%, frac{mathcal{B}(Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p pi^{-} K^{+})}{mathcal{B}(Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p K^{-} pi^{+})} & = (0.165 pm 0.015 pm 0.005 ),%, end{align*} where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. These results are the most precise measurements of these quantities to date. When multiplied by the world-average value for $mathcal{B}(Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p K^{-} pi^{+})$, the corresponding branching fractions are begin{align*} mathcal{B}(Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p pi^{-} pi^{+}) &= (4.72 pm 0.05 pm 0.11 pm 0.25) times 10^{-3}, mathcal{B}(Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p K^{-} K^{+}) &= (1.08 pm 0.02 pm 0.02 pm 0.06) times 10^{-3}, mathcal{B}(Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p pi^{-} K^{+}) &= (1.04 pm 0.09 pm 0.03 pm 0.05) times 10^{-4}, end{align*} where the final uncertainty is due to $mathcal{B}(Lambda_{c}^{+} rightarrow p K^{-} pi^{+})$.
