We explore the dynamics and observational predictions of the Warm Little Inflaton scenario, presently the simplest realization of warm inflation within a concrete quantum field theory construction. We consider three distinct types of scalar potentials for the inflaton, namely chaotic inflation with a quartic monomial potential, a Higgs-like symmetry breaking potential and a non-renormalizable plateau-like potential. In each case, we determine the parametric regimes in which the dynamical evolution is consistent for 50-60 e-folds of inflation, taking into account thermal corrections to the scalar potential and requiring, in particular, that the two fermions coupled directly to the inflaton remain relativistic and close to thermal equilibrium throughout the slow-roll regime and that the temperature is always below the underlying gauge symmetry breaking scale. We then compute the properties of the primordial spectrum of scalar curvature perturbations and the tensor-to-scalar ratio in the allowed parametric regions and compare them with Planck data, showing that this scenario is theoretically and observationally successful for a broad range of parameter values.

By incorporating quantum aspects of gravity, Loop Quantum Cosmology (LQC) provides a self-consistent extension of the inflationary scenario, allowing for modifications in the primordial inflationary power spectrum with respect to the standard General Relativity one. We investigate such modifications and explore the constraints imposed by the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) Planck Collaboration data on the Warm Inflation (WI) scenario in the LQC context. We obtain useful relations between the dissipative parameter of WI and the bounce scale parameter of LQC. We also find that the number of required e-folds of expansion from the bounce instant till the moment the observable scales crossed the Hubble radius during inflation can be smaller in WI than in CI. In particular, we find that this depends on how large is the dissipation in WI, with the amount of required e-folds decreasing with the increasing of the dissipation value. Furthermore, by performing a Monte Carlo Markov Chain analysis for the considered WI models, we find good agreement of the model with the data. This shows that the WI models studied here can explain the current observations also in the context of LQC.
We show that inflation can naturally occur at a finite temperature T>H that is sustained by dissipative effects, when the inflaton field corresponds to a pseudo Nambu-Goldstone boson of a broken gauge symmetry. Similarly to Little Higgs scenarios for electroweak symmetry breaking, the flatness of the inflaton potential is protected against both quadratic divergences and the leading thermal corrections. We show that, nevertheless, nonlocal dissipative effects are naturally present and are able to sustain a nearly thermal bath of light particles despite the accelerated expansion of the Universe. As an example, we discuss the dynamics of chaotic warm inflation with a quartic potential and show that the associated observational predictions are in very good agreement with the latest Planck results. This model constitutes the first realization of warm inflation requiring only a small number of fields; in particular, the inflaton is directly coupled to just two light fields.
We constrain spatially-flat tilted and nonflat untilted scalar field ($phi$) dynamical dark energy inflation ($phi$CDM) models by using Planck 2015 cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy measurements and recent baryonic acoustic oscillation dis tance observations, Type Ia supernovae apparent magnitude data, Hubble parameter measurements, and growth rate data. We assume an inverse power-law scalar field potential energy density $V(phi)=V_0 phi^{-alpha}$. We find that the combination of the CMB data with the four non-CMB data sets significantly improves parameter constraints and strengthens the evidence for nonflatness in the nonflat untilted $phi$CDM case from $1.8sigma$ for the CMB measurements only to more than $3.1sigma$ for the combined data. In the nonflat untilted $phi$CDM model current observations favor a spatially closed universe with spatial curvature contributing about two-thirds of a percent of the present cosmological energy budget. The flat tilted $phi$CDM model is a 0.4$sigma$ better fit to the data than is the standard flat tilted $Lambda$CDM model: current data allow for the possibility that dark energy is dynamical. The nonflat tilted $phi$CDM model is in better accord with the Dark Energy Survey bounds on the rms amplitude of mass fluctuations now ($sigma_8$) as a function of the nonrelativistic matter density parameter now ($Omega_m$) but it does not provide as good a fit to the larger-multipole Planck 2015 CMB anisotropy data as does the standard flat tilted $Lambda$CDM model. A few cosmological parameter value measurements differ significantly when determined using the tilted flat and the untilted nonflat $phi$CDM models, including the cold dark matter density parameter and the reionization optical depth.
In the paper, we consider two models in which dark energy is coupled with either dust matter or dark matter, and discuss the conditions that allow more time for structure formation to take place at high redshifts. These models are expected to have a larger age of the universe than that of $Lambda$CDM [universe consists of cold dark matter (CDM) and dark energy (a cosmological constant, $Lambda$)], so it can explain the formation of high redshift gravitationally bound systems which the $Lambda$CDM model cannot interpret. We use the observational Hubble parameter data (OHD) and Hubble parameter obtained from cosmic chronometers method ($H(z)$) in combination with baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) data to constrain these models. With the best-fitting parameters, we discuss how the age, the deceleration parameter, and the energy density parameters evolve in the new universes, and compare them with that of $Lambda$CDM.
We use the Constitution supernova, the baryon acoustic oscillation, the cosmic microwave background, and the Hubble parameter data to analyze the evolution property of dark energy. We obtain different results when we fit different baryon acoustic osc illation data combined with the Constitution supernova data to the Chevallier-Polarski-Linder model. We find that the difference stems from the different values of $Omega_{m0}$. We also fit the observational data to the model independent piecewise constant parametrization. Four redshift bins with boundaries at $z=0.22$, 0.53, 0.85 and 1.8 were chosen for the piecewise constant parametrization of the equation of state parameter $w(z)$ of dark energy. We find no significant evidence for evolving $w(z)$. With the addition of the Hubble parameter, the constraint on the equation of state parameter at high redshift isimproved by 70%. The marginalization of the nuisance parameter connected to the supernova distance modulus is discussed.
