We present a development of the theory of higher groups, including infinity groups and connective spectra, in homotopy type theory. An infinity group is simply the loops in a pointed, connected type, where the group structure comes from the structure inherent in the identity types of Martin-Lof type theory. We investigate ordinary groups from this viewpoint, as well as higher dimensional groups and groups that can be delooped more than once. A major result is the stabilization theorem, which states that if an $n$-type can be delooped $n+2$ times, then it is an infinite loop type. Most of the results have been formalized in the Lean proof assistant.

We combine Homotopy Type Theory with axiomatic cohesion, expressing the latter internally with a version of adjoint logic in which the discretization and codiscretization modalities are characterized using a judgmental formalism of crisp variables. T his yields type theories that we call spatial and cohesive, in which the types can be viewed as having independent topological and homotopical structure. These type theories can then be used to study formally the process by which topology gives rise to homotopy theory (the fundamental $infty$-groupoid or shape), disentangling the identifications of Homotopy Type Theory from the continuous paths of topology. In a further refinement called real-cohesion, the shape is determined by continuous maps from the real numbers, as in classical algebraic topology. This enables us to reproduce formally some of the classical applications of homotopy theory to topology. As an example, we prove Brouwers fixed-point theorem.
Univalent homotopy type theory (HoTT) may be seen as a language for the category of $infty$-groupoids. It is being developed as a new foundation for mathematics and as an internal language for (elementary) higher toposes. We develop the theory of fac torization systems, reflective subuniverses, and modalities in homotopy type theory, including their construction using a localization higher inductive type. This produces in particular the ($n$-connected, $n$-truncated) factorization system as well as internal presentations of subtoposes, through lex modalities. We also develop the semantics of these constructions.

For every $infty$-category $mathscr{C}$, there is a homotopy $n$-category $mathrm{h}_n mathscr{C}$ and a canonical functor $gamma_n colon mathscr{C} to mathrm{h}_n mathscr{C}$. We study these higher homotopy categories, especially in connection with the existence and preservation of (co)limits, by introducing a higher categorical notion of weak colimit. Based on the idea of the homotopy $n$-category, we introduce the notion of an $n$-derivator and study the main examples arising from $infty$-categories. Following the work of Maltsiniotis and Garkusha, we define $K$-theory for $infty$-derivators and prove that the canonical comparison map from the Waldhausen $K$-theory of $mathscr{C}$ to the $K$-theory of the associated $n$-derivator $mathbb{D}_{mathscr{C}}^{(n)}$ is $(n+1)$-connected. We also prove that this comparison map identifies derivator $K$-theory of $infty$-derivators in terms of a universal property. Moreover, using the canonical structure of higher weak pushouts in the homotopy $n$-category, we define also a $K$-theory space $K(mathrm{h}_n mathscr{C}, mathrm{can})$ associated to $mathrm{h}_n mathscr{C}$. We prove that the canonical comparison map from the Waldhausen $K$-theory of $mathscr{C}$ to $K(mathrm{h}_n mathscr{C}, mathrm{can})$ is $n$-connected.
This paper improves the treatment of equality in guarded dependent type theory (GDTT), by combining it with cubical type theory (CTT). GDTT is an extensional type theory with guarded recursive types, which are useful for building models of program lo gics, and for programming and reasoning with coinductive types. We wish to implement GDTT with decidable type checking, while still supporting non-trivial equality proofs that reason about the extensions of guarded recursive constructions. CTT is a variation of Martin-Lof type theory in which the identity type is replaced by abstract paths between terms. CTT provides a computational interpretation of functional extensionality, enjoys canonicity for the natural numbers type, and is conjectured to support decidable type-checking. Our new type theory, guarded cubical type theory (GCTT), provides a computational interpretation of extensionality for guarded recursive types. This further expands the foundations of CTT as a basis for formalisation in mathematics and computer science. We present examples to demonstrate the expressivity of our type theory, all of which have been checked using a prototype type-checker implementation. We show that CTT can be given semantics in presheaves on the product of the cube category and a small category with an initial object. We then show that the category of presheaves on the product of the cube category and omega provides semantics for GCTT.
We begin by recalling the essentially global character of universes in various models of homotopy type theory, which prevents a straightforward axiomatization of their properties using the internal language of the presheaf toposes from which these mo del are constructed. We get around this problem by extending the internal language with a modal operator for expressing properties of global elements. In this setting we show how to construct a universe that classifies the Cohen-Coquand-Huber-Mortberg (CCHM) notion of fibration from their cubical sets model, starting from the assumption that the interval is tiny - a property that the interval in cubical sets does indeed have. This leads to an elementary axiomatization of that and related models of homotopy type theory within what we call crisp type theory.
