We show that the Julia set of the Feigenbaum polynomial has Hausdorff dimension less than~2 (and consequently it has zero Lebesgue measure). This solves a long-standing open question.

The evoluted set is the set of configurations reached from an initial set via a fixed flow for all times in a fixed interval. We find conditions on the initial set and on the flow ensuring that the evoluted set has negligible boundary (i.e. its Lebes gue measure is zero). We also provide several counterexample showing that the hypotheses of our theorem are close to sharp.

In this short note, we give a sketch of a new proof of the exponential contraction of the Feigenbaum renormalization operator in the hybrid class of the Feigenbaum fixed point. The proof uses the non existence of invariant line fields in the Feigenba um tower (C. McMullen), the topological convergence (D. Sullivan), and a new infinitesimal argument, different from previous methods by C. McMullen and M. Lyubich. The method is very general: for instance, it can be used in the classical renormalization operator and in the Fibonacci renormalization operator.
A. Sannami constructed an example of the differentiable Cantor set embedded in the real line whose difference set has a positive measure. In this paper, we generalize the definition of the difference sets for sets of the two dimensional Euclidean spa ce as the sets of vectors between two sets, and estimate their measures. For the quadratic map Q_c(z)=z^2+c, we obtain that the measure of the difference set of its Julia set vanishes if |c|>3+sqrt{3}.
We give an alternative way to construct an entire function with quasiconformal surgery so that all its Fatou components are quasi-circles but the Julia set is non-locally connected.
We prove that Collet-Eckmann rational maps have poly-time computable Julia sets. As a consequence, almost all real quadratic Julia sets are poly-time.
