We measure the inclusive production cross sections of hyperons and charmed baryons from $e^+e^-$ annihilation using a 800 fb$^{-1}$ data sample taken near the $Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider. The feed-down contributions from heavy particles are subtracted using our data, and the direct production cross sections are presented for the first time. The production cross sections divided by the number of spin states for $S=-1$ hyperons follow an exponential function with a single slope parameter except for the $Sigma(1385)^+$ resonance. Suppression for $Sigma(1385)^+$ and $Xi(1530)^0$ hyperons is observed. Among the production cross sections of charmed baryons, a factor of three difference for $Lambda_c^+$ states over $Sigma_c$ states is observed. This observation suggests a diquark structure for these baryons.

We report measurements of the production cross sections of charged pions, kaons, and protons as a function of fractional energy, the event-shape variable called thrust, and the transverse momentum with respect to the thrust axis. These measurements a ccess the transverse momenta created in the fragmentation process, which are of critical importance to the understanding of any transverse momentum dependent distribution and fragmentation functions. The low transverse momentum part of the cross sections can be well described by Gaussians in transverse momentum as is generally assumed but the fractional-energy dependence is non-trivial and different hadron types have varying Gaussian widths. The width of these Gaussians decreases with thrust and shows an initially rising, then decreasing fractional-energy dependence. The widths for pions and kaons are comparable within uncertainties, while those for protons are significantly narrower. These single-hadron cross sections and Gaussian widths are obtained from a $558,{rm fb}^{-1}$ data sample collected at the $Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider.

The cross sections for the reactions $e^+e^- to phieta, quad phieta, quad rhoeta, quad rhoeta$ have been measured using a data sample of 516 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider. The correspondin g values of the cross sections are: $1.4 pm 0.4 pm 0.1$ fb $(phieta)$, $5.3 pm 1.1 pm 0.4$ fb $(phieta)$, $3.1 pm 0.5 pm 0.1$ fb $(rhoeta)$ and $3.3 pm 0.6 pm 0.2$ fb $(rhoeta)$. The energy dependence of the cross sections is presented using Belle measurements together with those of CLEO and BaBar.
Using the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we have measured inclusive and exclusive cross sections for the production of D+, D0 and Ds+ mesons in e+e- annihilations at thirteen center-of-mass energies between 3.97 and 4.26 GeV. E xclusive cross sections are presented for final states consisting of two charm mesons (DD, D*D, D*D*, Ds+Ds-, Ds*+Ds-, and Ds*+Ds*-) and for processes in which the charm-meson pair is accompanied by a pion. No enhancement in any final state is observed at the energy of the Y(4260).

The interference fragmentation function translates the fragmentation of a quark with a transverse projection of the spin into an azimuthal asymmetry of two final-state hadrons. In e+e- annihilation the product of two interference fragmentation functi ons is measured. We report nonzero asymmetries for pairs of charge-ordered pi+pi- pairs, which indicate a significant interference fragmentation function in this channel. The results are obtained from a 672 fb-1 data sample that contains 711 times 106 pi+pi- pairs and was collected at and near the ?(4S) resonance, with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider.
The cross section of the process $e^+e^- rightarrow omega chi_{c0}$ is measured at center-of-mass energies from $sqrt{s} =$ 4.178 to 4.278 GeV using a data sample of 7 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. The dependence of the cross section on $sqrt{s}$ shows a resonant structure with mass of $(4218.5pm1.6(text{stat.})pm4.0(text{syst.}))$ MeV/$c^2$ and width of $(28.2pm3.9(text{stat.})pm1.6(text{syst.}))$ MeV, respectively. This observation confirms and improves upon the result of a previous study. The angular distribution of the $e^+e^- rightarrow omega chi_{c0}$ process is extracted for the first time.
