This paper presents the potential research on holographic Schwinger effect with rotating probe D3-brane etc. We discover, for zero temperature case in the Schwinger effect, the faster the angular velocity, the farther the distance of the test particles pair at D3-brane, the potential barrier of total potential energy also grows higher and wider. This paper discovers: at finite temperature, when S5 without rotation near the horizon, there is the failure of the Schwinger effect because the particles will remain at annihilate state, which is an absolute vacuum state. However, the angular velocity in S5 will avoid the existence of the absolute vacuum near the horizon. Both zero and finite temperature states, the achieved results completely agree with the results of the DBI action. So the theories of this paper are consistent, all these show that these theories will play important roles in pair production research in the future.

The Schwinger effect in the presence of instantons is considered in this paper. Using AdS/CFT correspondence in the near horizon limit of the D3+D($-1$)-brane background, we calculate the total potential of a quark-antiquark pair in an external elect ric field. It is shown that instantons tend to suppress the pair creation effect and increase the critical electric field above which the pairs are produced freely without any suppression. Interestingly, no other critical electric field, common for all confining field theories, is observed here at finite temperature. However, as expected we find such a critical electric field at zero temperature. The pair production rate evaluated by the calculation of the expectation value of the circular Wilson loop also confirms this result.
We revisit the idea that the quantum dynamics of open strings ending on $N$ D3-branes in the large $N$ limit can be described at large `t Hooft coupling by classical closed string theory in the background created by the D3-branes in asymptotically fl at spacetime. We study the resulting thermodynamics and compute the Hagedorn temperature and other properties of the D3-brane worldvolume theory in this regime. We also consider the theory in which the D3-branes are replaced by negative branes and show that its thermodynamics is well behaved. We comment on the idea that this theory can be thought of as an irrelevant deformation of $mathcal{N}=4$ SYM, and on its relation to $Tbar T$ deformed $CFT_2$.

Using the gauge-gravity duality, we study the holographic Schwinger effect by performing the potential analysis on the confining D3- and D4-brane background with D-instantons then evaluate the pair production/decay rate by taking account into a funda mental string and a single flavor brane respectively. The two confining backgrounds with D-instantons are obtained from the black D(-1)-D3 and D0-D4 solution with a double Wick rotation. The total potential and pair production/decay rate in the Schwinger effect are calculated numerically by examining the NG action of a fundamental string and the DBI action of a single flavor brane all in the presence of an electric field. In both backgrounds our numerical calculation agrees with the critical electric field evaluated from the DBI action and shows the potential barrier is increased by the presence of the D-instantons, thus the production/decay rate is suppressed by the D-instantons. Our interpretation is that particles in the dual field theory could acquire an effective mass through the Chern-Simons interaction or the theta term due to the presence of D-instantons so that the pair production/decay rate in Schwinger effect is suppressed since it behaves as $e^{-m^{2}}$. Our conclusion is in agreement with the previous results obtained in the deconfined D(-1)-D3 background at zero temperature limit and from the approach of the flavor brane in the D0-D4 background. In this sense, this work may be also remarkable to study the phase transition in Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory and observable effects by the theta angle in QCD.
We study the Regge trajectories of holographic mesons and baryons by considering rotating strings and D5 brane, which is introduced as the baryon vertex. Our model is based on the type IIB superstring theory with the background of asymptotic $AdS_5ti mes S^5$. This background is dual to a confining supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory (SYM) with gauge condensate, $<F^2>$, which determines the tension of the linear potential between the quark and anti-quark. Then the slope of the meson trajectory ($alpha_{M}$) is given by this condensate as $alpha_{M}=1/sqrt{pi <F^2>}$ at large spin $J$. This relation is compatible with the other theoretical results and experiments. For the baryon, we show the importance of spinning baryon vertex to obtain a Regge slope compatible with the one of $N$ and $Delta$ series. In both cases, mesons and baryons, the trajectories are shifted to large mass side with the same slope for increasing current quark mass.
We study loop corrections to scattering amplitudes in the world-volume theory of a probe D3-brane, which is described by the supersymmetric Dirac-Born-Infeld theory. We show that the D3-brane loop superamplitudes can be obtained from the tree-level s uperamplitudes in the world-volume theory of a probe M5-brane (or D5-brane). The M5-brane theory describes self-interactions of an abelian tensor supermultiplet with $(2,0)$ supersymmetry, and the tree-level superamplitudes are given by a twistor formula. We apply the construction to the maximally-helicity-violating (MHV) amplitudes in the D3-brane theory at one-loop order, which are purely rational terms (except for the four-point amplitude). The results are further confirmed by generalised unitarity methods. Through a supersymmetry reduction on the M5-brane tree-level superamplitudes, we also construct one-loop corrections to the non-supersymmetric D3-brane amplitudes, which agree with the known results in the literature.
