Recent charm spectroscopy results from Dalitz plot analyses of $B$ decays to open charm final states at LHCb are presented. The decay modes used are $B^{+} to D^{-} K^{+} pi^{+}$, $B^{0} to overline{D}{}^{0} pi^{+} pi^{-}$ and $B^{0} to overline{D}{}^{0} K^{+} pi^{-}$.

LHCb continues to expand its world-leading sample of charmed hadrons collected during LHCs Run 1 (2010-2012) and Run 2 (2015-present). This sample is yielding some of the most stringent tests of the Standard Model understanding of charm physics. This includes precise measurements of the neutral D-meson mixing parameters and some of the most sensitive searches for direct and indirect CP violation in charm interactions.
Identification of jets originating from beauty and charm quarks is important for measuring Standard Model processes and for searching for new physics. The performance of algorithms developed to select $b$- and $c$-quark jets is measured using data re corded by LHCb from proton-proton collisions at $sqrt{s}=7$ TeV in 2011 and at $sqrt{s}=8$ TeV in 2012. The efficiency for identifying a $b(c)$ jet is about 65%(25%) with a probability for misidentifying a light-parton jet of 0.3% for jets with transverse momentum $p_{rm T} > 20$ GeV and pseudorapidity $2.2 < eta < 4.2$. The dependence of the performance on the $p_{rm T}$ and $eta$ of the jet is also measured.
An algorithm is described for tagging the flavour content at production of neutral $B$ mesons in the LHCb experiment. The algorithm exploits the correlation of the flavour of a $B$ meson with the charge of a reconstructed secondary charm hadron from the decay of the other $b$ hadron produced in the proton-proton collision. Charm hadron candidates are identified in a number of fully or partially reconstructed Cabibbo-favoured decay modes. The algorithm is calibrated on the self-tagged decay modes $B^+ to J/psi , K^+$ and $B^0 to J/psi , K^{*0}$ using $3.0mathrm{,fb}^{-1}$ of data collected by the LHCb experiment at $pp$ centre-of-mass energies of $7mathrm{,TeV}$ and $8mathrm{,TeV}$. Its tagging power on these samples of $B to J/psi , X$ decays is $(0.30 pm 0.01 pm 0.01) %$.

The LHCb experiment is designed to study the decays and properties of heavy flavoured hadrons produced in the forward region from proton-proton collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. During Run 1, it has recorded the worlds largest data sample of beauty and charm hadrons, enabling precise studies into the spectroscopy of such particles, including discoveries of new states and measurements of their masses, widths and quantum numbers. An overview of recent LHCb results in the area of exotic hadron spectroscopy is presented, focussing on the discovery of the first pentaquark states in the $Lambda_b^0 to J/psi p K^-$ channel and a search for them in the related $Lambda_b^0 to J/psi ppi^-$ mode. The LHCb non-confirmation of the D0 tetraquark candidate in the $B_s^0pi^+$ invariant mass spectrum is presented.

Selected new results from the H1 and ZEUS collaborations on $ep$ interactions at 300 - 318 GeV centre-of-mass energy are presented. The full pre-upgrade integrated luminosity of HERA of 110 pb$^{-1}$ is used. Charm cross sections are measured up to h igh values of $x_B$ and $Q^2$ and are found to be well described by NLO QCD in the 3 flavour scheme. Orbitally excited $D$ mesons are observed; radial excitations are searched for, but are not seen. The first $b$ cross section measurement is confirmed with a lifetime based method, establishing the excess over NLO QCD.
