The decay $D^0 to pi^+ pi^- pi^0$ appears to be dominated by $rho pi$ states in a configuration of zero total isotopic spin. The spin $J$, parity $P$, and charge-conjugation eigenvalue $C$ of this final state are therefore $J^{PC} = 0^{--}$, which cannot be formed of a quark $q$ and antiquark $bar q$. If a resonance near $M(D^0)$ dominates the final state, it must be a {it hybrid} composed of a quark-antiquark pair and a constituent gluon, or a {it tetraquark} $q q bar q bar q$. A test for this resonance in electroproduction is proposed.

We search for CP violation in neutral charm meson decays using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 966 fb^-1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- asymmetric-energy collider. The asymmetry obtained in the rate of D^0 and D^0-b ar decays to the pi^0 pi^0 final state, [-0.03+-0.64(stat)+-0.10(syst)]%, is consistent with no CP violation. This constitutes an order of magnitude improvement over the existing result. We also present an updated measurement of the CP asymmetry in the D^0 -> K_S pi^0 decay: A_{CP}(D^0 -> K_S pi^0) = [-0.21+-0.16(stat)+-0.07(syst)]%.

Using a data sample corresponding to 13.7 fb^-1 collected with the CLEO II and II.V detectors, we report new branching fraction measurements for two Cabibbo-suppressed decay modes of the D^+ meson: Br(D^+ to pi^+ pi^0) = (1.3 +/- 0.2) x 10^-3 and Br( D^+ to bar{K}^0 K^+) = (5.2 +/- 0.6) x 10^-3 which are significant improvements over past measurements. The errors include statistical and systematical uncertainties as well as the uncertainty in the absolute D^+ branching fraction scale. We also set the first 90% confidence level upper limit on the branching fraction of the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay mode Br(D^+ to K^+ pi^0) < 4.2 x 10^-4.
Using a data sample of $e^+e^-$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 $fb^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of $sqrt{s}= 3.773~GeV$,we search for the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decays $D^{0} topi^{0}pi^{0}pi^{0}$, $pi^{0}pi^{0}eta$, $pi^{0}etaeta$ and $etaetaeta$ using the double tag method. The absolute branching fractions are measured to be $mathcal{B}(D^{0}topi^{0}pi^{0}pi^{0}) = (2.0 pm 0.4 pm 0.3)times 10^{-4}$, $mathcal{B}(D^{0}topi^{0}pi^{0}eta) = (3.8 pm 1.1 pm 0.7)times 10^{-4}$ and $mathcal{B}(D^{0}topi^{0}etaeta) = (7.3 pm 1.6 pm 1.5)times 10^{-4}$ with the statistical significances of $4.8sigma$, $3.8sigma$ and $5.5sigma$, respectively, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones systematic. No significant signal of $D^{0}toetaetaeta$ is found, and the upper limit on its decay branching fraction is set to be $mathcal{B}(D^{0}toetaetaeta) < 1.3 times 10^{-4}$ at the $90%$ confidence level.
The resonant substructures of $B^0 to overline{D}^0 pi^+pi^-$ decays are studied with the Dalitz plot technique. In this study a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions collected by the LHCb detector is used. The branching fraction of the $B^0 to overline{D}^0 pi^+pi^-$ decay in the region $m(overline{D}^0pi^{pm})>2.1$ GeV$/c^2$ is measured to be $(8.46 pm 0.14 pm 0.29 pm 0.40) times 10^{-4}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic and the last arises from the normalisation channel $B^0 to D^*(2010)^-pi^+$. The $pi^+pi^-$ S-wave components are modelled with the Isobar and K-matrix formalisms. Results of the Dalitz plot analyses using both models are presented. A resonant structure at $m(overline{D}^0pi^-) approx 2.8$ GeV$/c^{2}$ is confirmed and its spin-parity is determined for the first time as $J^P = 3^-$. The branching fraction, mass and width of this structure are determined together with those of the $D^*_0(2400)^-$ and $D^*_2(2460)^-$ resonances. The branching fractions of other $B^0 to overline{D}^0 h^0$ decay components with $h^0 to pi^+pi^-$ are also reported. Many of these branching fraction measurements are the most precise to date. The first observation of the decays $B^0 to overline{D}^0 f_0(500)$, $B^0 to overline{D}^0 f_0(980)$, $B^0 to overline{D}^0 rho(1450)$, $B^0 to D_3^*(2760)^- pi^+$ and the first evidence of $B^0 to overline{D}^0 f_0(2020)$ are presented.
In this paper we study the direct CP asymmetry of the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay mode $D^0 to K^+ pi^- $ within standard model and two Higgs doublet model with generic Yukawa structure. In the standard model we derive the corrections to the tree level amplitude, generated from the box and di-penguin diagrams, required for generating the weak CP violating phases. We show that these phases are so tiny leading to a direct CP asymmetry of order $10^{-9}$. Regarding the two Higgs doublet model with generic Yukawa structure we derive the Wilson coefficients relevant to $D^0 to K^+ pi^- $. After taking into account all constraints on the parameter space of the model we show that charged Higgs couplings to quarks can lead to a direct CP asymmetry of order $10^{-3}$ which is $6$ orders of magnitude larger than the standard model prediction.
