We give a direct calculation of the curvature of the Hitchin connection, in geometric quantization on a symplectic manifold, using only differential geometric techniques. In particular, we establish that the curvature acts as a first-order operator on the quantum spaces. Projective flatness follows if the Kahler structures do not admit holomorphic vector fields. Following Witten, we define a complex variant of the Hitchin connection on the bundle of prequantum spaces. The curvature is essentially unchanged, so projective flatness holds in the same cases. Finally, the results are applied to quantum Chern-Simons theory, both for compact and complex gauge groups.

This article studies the nonabelian localization results of Beasley and Witten, and considers the analogue of these results when the gauge group is U(1). It compares these results with results of Manoliu on abelian Chern-Simons theory, showing that t he dependence on the coupling constant is the same.
We study resurgence properties of partition function of SU(2) Chern-Simons theory (WRT invariant) on closed three-manifolds. We check explicitly that in various examples Borel transforms of asymptotic expansions posses expected analytic properties. I n examples that we study we observe that contribution of irreducible flat connections to the path integral can be recovered from asymptotic expansions around abelian flat connections. We also discuss connection to Floer instanton moduli spaces, disk instantons in 2d sigma models, and length spectra of complex geodesics on the A-polynomial curve.
We investigate extended Wilson loop operators, in particular tetrahedron operator in (2 + 1)-dimensional Chern-Simons-Witten theory. This operator emerges naturally from the contribution terms in twoparticle scattering amplitude. We evaluate this dia gram non-perturbatively in terms of vacuum expectation values of Wilson loop operators, especially for gauge group SU(N) with specific choices of representations. On the other hand, we also discuss the perturbative calculation of vacuum expectation value in this theory. We show that, up to the third order, this values of unknotted Wilson loop operators are identical to the non-perturbative result.
We show that the four-dimensional Chern-Simons theory studied by Costello, Witten and Yamazaki, is, with Nahm pole-type boundary conditions, dual to a boundary theory that is a three-dimensional analogue of Toda theory with a novel 3d W-algebra symme try. By embedding four-dimensional Chern-Simons theory in a partial twist of the five-dimensional maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory on a manifold with corners, we argue that this three-dimensional Toda theory is dual to a two-dimensional topological sigma model with A-branes on the moduli space of solutions to the Bogomolny equations. This furnishes a novel 3d-2d correspondence, which, among other mathematical implications, also reveals that modules of the 3d W-algebra are modules for the quantized algebra of certain holomorphic functions on the Bogomolny moduli space.

In this article we describe the relation between the Chern-Simons gauge theory partition function and the partition function defined using the symplectic action functional as the Lagrangian. We show that the partition functions obtained using these t wo Lagrangians agree, and we identify the semiclassical formula for the partition function defined using the symplectic action functional.
