We present a new and sensitive method to observe direct CP violation in $D$ mesons using Bose symmetry and Dalitz plot. We apply the method to processes such as $B to D^0bar{D}^0 P$, where $P$ is either a $K$ or a $pi$. By choosing to reconstruct $D$ mesons only through their decays into CP eigenstates, we show that any asymmetry in the Dalitz plot can arise only through direct CP violation. We further show how CP violation parameters can be determined. Since the approach involves only Bose symmetry, the method is applicable to any multi-body process that involves $D^0bar{D}^0$ in the final state. We briefly discuss how $Bto D^* bar{D}^* P$ can also be used in a similar way.

A violation of mirror symmetry in the $etatopi^+pi^-pi^0$ Dalitz plot has long been recognized as a signal of C and CP violation. Here we show how the isospin of the underlying C- and CP-violating structures can be reconstructed from their kinematic representation in the Dalitz plot. Our analysis of the most recent experimental data reveals, for the first time, that the C- and CP-violating amplitude with total isospin $I=2$ is much more severely suppressed than that with total isospin $I=0$.
In this paper we investigate CP violation in charged decays of $D$ meson. Particularly, we study the direct CP asymmetry of the Cabibbo favored non-leptonic $D^+ rightarrow bar K^0 pi^+$ and the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay mode $D^+ rightarrow K^ 0 pi^+$ within standard model, two Higgs doublet model with generic Yukawa structure and left right symmetric models. In the standard model, we first derive the contributions from box and di-penguin diagrams contributing to their amplitudes which are relevant to the generation of the weak phases essential for non-vanishing direct CP violation. Then, we show that these phases are so tiny leading to a direct CP asymmetry of order $10^{-11}$ in both decay modes. Regarding the two Higgs doublet model with generic Yukawa structure and after taking into account all constraints on the parameter space of the model, we show that the enhanced direct CP asymmetries can be 6 and 7 orders of magnitudes larger than the standard model prediction for $D^+ rightarrow bar K^0 pi^+$ and $D^+ rightarrow K^0 pi^+$ respectively. Finally, within left right symmetric models, we find that sizable direct CP asymmetry of ${mathcal O } (10^{-3})$ can be obtained for the decay mode $D^+ rightarrow bar K^0 pi^+$ after respecting all relevant constraints.
A rare decay $K_L to mu^+ mu^- $ has been measured precisely, while a rare decay $K_S to mu^+ mu^- $ will be observed by an upgrade of the LHCb experiment. Although both processes are almost CP-conserving decays, we point out that an interference con tribution between $K_L$ and $K_S$ in the kaon beam emerges from a genuine direct CP violation. It is found that the interference contribution can change $K_S to mu^+ mu^-$ standard-model predictions at $mathcal{O}(60%)$. We also stress that an unknown sign of $mathcal{A}(K_L to gamma gamma)$ can be determined by a measurement of the interference, which can much reduce a theoretical uncertainty of $mathcal{B}(K_L to mu^+ mu^-)$. We also investigate the interference in a new physics model, where the $epsilon_K / epsilon_K$ tension is explained by an additional $Z$-penguin contribution.
In this paper we study the direct CP asymmetry of the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay mode $D^0 to K^+ pi^- $ within standard model and two Higgs doublet model with generic Yukawa structure. In the standard model we derive the corrections to the tree level amplitude, generated from the box and di-penguin diagrams, required for generating the weak CP violating phases. We show that these phases are so tiny leading to a direct CP asymmetry of order $10^{-9}$. Regarding the two Higgs doublet model with generic Yukawa structure we derive the Wilson coefficients relevant to $D^0 to K^+ pi^- $. After taking into account all constraints on the parameter space of the model we show that charged Higgs couplings to quarks can lead to a direct CP asymmetry of order $10^{-3}$ which is $6$ orders of magnitude larger than the standard model prediction.
Dalitz-plot analyses of $Brightarrow Kpipi$ decays provide direct access to decay amplitudes, and thereby weak and strong phases can be disentangled by resolving the interference patterns in phase space between intermediate resonant states. A phenome nological isospin analysis of $Brightarrow K^*(rightarrow Kpi)pi$ decay amplitudes is presented exploiting available amplitude analyses performed at the Babar, Belle and LHCb experiments. A first application consists in constraining the CKM parameters thanks to an external hadronic input. A method, proposed some time ago by two different groups and relying on a bound on the electroweak penguin contribution, is shown to lack the desired robustness and accuracy, and we propose a more alluring alternative using a bound on the annihilation contribution. A second application consists in extracting information on hadronic amplitudes assuming the values of the CKM parameters from a global fit to quark flavour data. The current data yields several solutions, which do not fully support the hierarchy of hadronic amplitudes usually expected from theoretical arguments (colour suppression, suppression of electroweak penguins), as illustrated from computations within QCD factorisation. Some prospects concerning the impact of future measurements at LHCb and Belle II are also presented. Results are obtained with the CKMfitter analysis package, featuring the frequentist statistical approach and using the Rfit scheme to handle theoretical uncertainties.
