We explore possible pathways for the creation of ultracold polar NaK molecules in their absolute electronic and rovibrational ground state starting from ultracold Feshbach molecules. In particular, we present a multi-channel analysis of the electronic ground and K(4p)+Na(3s) excited state manifold of NaK, analyze the spin character of both the Feshbach molecular state and the electronically excited intermediate states and discuss possible coherent two-photon transfer paths from Feshbach molecules to rovibronic ground state molecules. The theoretical study is complemented by the demonstration of STIRAP transfer from the X^1Sigma^+ (v=0) state to the a^3Sigma^+ manifold on a molecular beam experiment.
We employ two-photon spectroscopy to study the vibrational states of the triplet ground state potential ($a^3Sigma^+$) of the $^{23}$Na$^{6}$Li molecule. Pairs of Na and Li atoms in an ultracold mixture are photoassociated into an excited triplet mol
Ionization of atoms and molecules by absorption of a light pulse results in electron wavepackets carrying information on the atomic or molecular structure as well as on the dynamics of the ionization process. These wavepackets can be described as a c
We study coherent excitation hopping in a spin chain realized using highly excited individually addressable Rydberg atoms. The dynamics are fully described in terms of an XY spin Hamiltonian with a long range resonant dipole-dipole coupling that scal
Quantum systems out of equilibrium offer the possibility of understanding intriguing and challenging problems in modern physics. Studying transport properties is not only valuable to unveil fundamental properties of quantum matter but it is also an e
Chirality causes symmetry breaks in a large variety of natural phenomena ranging from particle physics to biochemistry. We investigate one of the simplest conceivable chiral systems, a laser-excited, oriented, effective one-electron Li target. Prepar
