BaMn2As2 is a local-moment antiferromagnetic insulator with a Neel temperature of 625 K and a large ordered moment of 3.9 Bohr magneton per Mn. Remarkably, this compound can be driven metallic by the substitution of as little as 1.6% K for Ba while retaining essentially the same ordered magnetic moment and Neel temperature, as previously reported. Here, using both powder and single crystal neutron diffraction we show that the local moment antiferromagnetic order in Ba(1-x)KxMn2As2 remains robust up to x = 0.4. The ordered moment is nearly independent of x for 0 < x < 0.4 and the Neel transition temperature decreases to 480 K at x = 0.4.
Neutron and x-ray diffraction studies of Ba(Fe{1-x}Mn{x})2As2 for low doping concentrations (x <= 0.176) reveal that at a critical concentration, 0.102 < x < 0.118, the tetragonal-to-orthorhombic transition abruptly disappears whereas magnetic orderi
We investigate magnetic ordering in metallic Ba[Fe(1-x)Mn(x)](2)As(2) and discuss the unusual magnetic phase, which was recently discovered for Mn concentrations x > 10%. We argue that it can be understood as a Griffiths-type phase that forms above t
We use neutron scattering to study vanadium (hole)-doped LiFe$_{1-x}$V$_x$As. In the undoped state, LiFeAs exhibits superconductivity at $T_c=18$ K and transverse incommensurate spin excitations similar to electron overdoped iron pnictides. Upon vana
75As nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiments were performed on Ba(Fe1-xMnx)2As2 (xMn = 2.5%, 5% and 12%) single crystals. The Fe layer magnetic susceptibility far from Mn atoms is probed by the75As NMR line shift and is found similar to that of
Neutron diffraction and high-resolution x-ray diffraction studies find that, similar to the closely related underdoped Ba(Fe[1-x]Cox)2As2 superconducting compounds, Ba(Fe0.961Rh0.039)2As2 shows strong evidence of competition and coexistence between s
