We present the results of a study of the stellar activity in the solar neighborhood using complete kinematics (galactocentric velocities U,V,W) and the chromospheric activity index $log R_{rm{HK}}$. We analyzed the average activity level near the centers of known moving groups using a sample of 2529 stars and found that the stars near these associations tend to be more active than field stars. This supports the hypothesis that these structures, or at least a significant part of them, are composed of kinematically bound, young stars. We confirmed our results by using Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX) UV data and kinematics taken from the Geneva-Copenhagen Survey for the stars in the sample. Finally, we present a compiled catalog with kinematics and activities for 2529 stars and a list of potential moving group members selected based on their stellar activity level.

Stellar Kinematic Groups are kinematical coherent groups of stars which may share a common origin. These groups spread through the Galaxy over time due to tidal effects caused by galactic rotation and disk heating, however the chemical information su rvives. The aim of chemical tagging is to show that abundances of every element in the analysis must be homogeneous between members. We have studied the case of the Hyades Supercluster in order to compile a reliable list of members (FGK stars) based on chemical tagging information and spectroscopic age determinations of this supercluster. This information has been derived from high-resolution echelle spectra obtained during our surveys of late-type stars. For a small subsample of the Hyades Supercluster, stellar atmospheric parameters (T_eff, log g, xi and [Fe/H]) have been determined using an automatic code which takes into account the sensibility of iron EWs measured in the spectra. We have derived absolute abundances consistent with galactic abundance trends reported in previous studies. The chemical tagging method has been applied with a carefully differential abundance analysis of each candidate member of the Hyades Supercluster, using a well-known member of the Hyades cluster as reference. A preliminary research has allowed us to find out which stars are members based on their differential abundances and spectroscopic ages.

In this work, we present a systematic search for stellar groups in the Taurus field by applying DBSCAN algorithm to the data from Gaia DR2. We find 22 groups, consisting of 8 young groups (Groups 1-8) at ages of 2-4Myr and distances of ~130-170pc, 14 old groups (Groups 9-22) at ages of 8-49Myr and distances of ~110-210pc. We characterize the disk properties of group members and find 19 new disk-bearing stars, 8 of which are in the young groups and 11 others belong to the comparatively old groups at ages of 8-11 Myr. We characterize the accretion properties of the group members with H$alpha$ emission line in their LAMOST spectra, and discover one source in Group 10 at an age of 10 Myr which still shows accretion activity. We investigate the kinematic relations among the old groups, and find that Group 9 is kinematically related to the known Taurus members and exclude any kinematic relations between Groups 10-22 and the known Taurus members.
We analyze the kinematics of thick disk and halo stars observed by the Large sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope. We have constructed a sample of 7,993 F, G and K nearby main-sequence stars (textit{d} $<$ 2 kpc) with estimates of posi tion (x, y, z) and space velocity ($U$, $V$, $W$) based on color and proper motion from the SDSS DR9 catalog. Three `phase-space overdensities are identified in [textit{V}, $sqrt{U^{2}+2V^{2}}$] with significance levels of $sigma$ $>$ 3. %[L$_{Z}$, eccentricity], [L$_{Z}$, L$_{bot}$], and [V$_{az}$, V$_{triangle}E$]. Two of them (Hyades-Pleiades stream, Arcturus-AF06 stream) have been identified previously. We also find evidence for a new stream (centered at textit{V} $sim$ -180 km s$^{-1}$) in the halo. The formation mechanisms of these three streams are analyzed. Our results support the hypothesis the Arcturus-AF06 stream and the new stream originated from the debris of a disrupted satellite, while Hyades-Pleiades stream has a dynamical origin.
The gravitational redshift induced by stellar surface gravity is notoriously difficult to measure for non-degenerate stars, since its amplitude is small in comparison with the typical Doppler shift induced by stellar radial velocity. In this study, w e make use of the large observational data set of the Gaia mission to achieve a significant reduction of noise caused by these random stellar motions. By measuring the differences in velocities between the components of pairs of co-moving stars and wide binaries, we are able to statistically measure gravitational redshift and nullify the effect of the peculiar motions of the stars. For the subset of stars considered in this study, we find a positive correlation between the observed differences in Gaia radial velocities and the differences in surface gravity inferred from effective temperature and luminosity measurements. This corresponds to the first ever measurement of extra-Solar surface gravity induced gravitational redshift in non-degenerate stars. Additionally, we study the sub-dominant effects of convective blueshifting of emission lines, effects of binary motion, and possible systematic errors in radial velocity measurements within Gaia. Results from the technique presented in this study are expected to improve significantly with data from the next Gaia data release. Such improvements could be used to constrain the mass-luminosity relation and stellar models which predict the magnitude of convective blueshift.
We present a self-consistent, absolute isochronal age scale for young (< 200 Myr), nearby (< 100 pc) moving groups in the solar neighbourhood based on homogeneous fitting of semi-empirical pre-main-sequence model isochrones using the tau^2 maximum-li kelihood fitting statistic of Naylor & Jeffries in the M_V, V-J colour-magnitude diagram. The final adopted ages for the groups are: 149+51-19 Myr for the AB Dor moving group, 24+/-3 Myr for the {beta} Pic moving group (BPMG), 45+11-7 Myr for the Carina association, 42+6-4 Myr for the Columba association, 11+/-3 Myr for the {eta} Cha cluster, 45+/-4 Myr for the Tucana-Horologium moving group (Tuc-Hor), 10+/-3 Myr for the TW Hya association, and 22+4-3 Myr for the 32 Ori group. At this stage we are uncomfortable assigning a final, unambiguous age to the Argus association as our membership list for the association appears to suffer from a high level of contamination, and therefore it remains unclear whether these stars represent a single population of coeval stars. Our isochronal ages for both the BPMG and Tuc-Hor are consistent with recent lithium depletion boundary (LDB) ages, which unlike isochronal ages, are relatively insensitive to the choice of low-mass evolutionary models. This consistency between the isochronal and LDB ages instills confidence that our self-consistent, absolute age scale for young, nearby moving groups is robust, and hence we suggest that these ages be adopted for future studies of these groups.
