The transition helicity amplitudes from the proton ground state to the $P_{11}(1440)$ and $D_{13}(1520)$ excited states ($gamma_{v}pN^*$ electrocouplings) were determined from the analysis of nine independent one-fold differential $pi^{+} pi^{-} p$ electroproduction cross sections off a proton target, taken with CLAS at photon virtualities 0.25enskip {rm GeV$^{2}$} $<$ $Q^{2}$ $<$ 0.60 enskip {rm GeV$^{2}$}. The phenomenological reaction model was employed for separation of the resonant and non-resonant contributions to the final state. The $P_{11}(1440)$ and $D_{13}(1520)$ electrocouplings were obtained from the resonant amplitudes parametrized within the framework of a unitarized Breit-Wigner ansatz. They are consistent with results obtained in the previous CLAS analyses of the $pi^+n$ and $pi^0p$ channels. The successful description of a large body of data in dominant meson-electroproduction channels off protons with the same $gamma_{v}pN^*$ electrocouplings offers clear evidence for the reliable extraction of these fundamental quantities from meson-electroproduction data. This analysis also led to the determination of the long-awaited hadronic branching ratios for the $D_{13}(1520)$ decay into $Deltapi$ (24%-32%) and $Nrho$ (8%-17%).

The transition helicity amplitudes from the proton ground state to the $N(1440)1/2^+$, $N(1520)3/2^-$, and $Delta(1620)1/2^-$ resonances ($gamma_vpN^*$ electrocouplings) were determined from the analysis of nine independent one-fold differential $pi^ + pi^- p$ electroproduction cross sections off a proton target, taken with CLAS at photon virtualities 0.5 GeV$^2$ $< Q^2 <$ 1.5 GeV$^2$. The phenomenological reaction model employed for separation of the resonant and non-resonant contributions to this exclusive channel was further developed. The $N(1440)1/2^+$, $N(1520)3/2^-$, and $Delta(1620)1/2^-$ electrocouplings were obtained from the resonant amplitudes of charged double-pion electroproduction off the proton in the aforementioned area of photon virtualities for the first time. Consistent results on $gamma_vpN^*$ electrocouplings available from independent analyses of several $W$-intervals with different non-resonant contributions offer clear evidence for the reliable extraction of these fundamental quantities. These studies also improved the knowledge on hadronic branching ratios for the $N(1440)1/2^+$, $N(1520)3/2^-$, and $Delta(1620)1/2^-$ decays to the $pi Delta$ and $rho N$ final states. These new results provide a substantial impact on the QCD-based approaches that describe the $N^*$ structure and demonstrate the capability to explore fundamental ingredients of the non-perturbative strong interaction that are behind the excited nucleon state formation.
The analysis of the nine 1-fold differential cross sections for the $gamma_{r,v} p to pi^+pi^-p$ photo- and electroproduction reactions obtained with the CLAS detector at Jefferson Laboratory was carried out with the goal to establish the contributin g resonances in the mass range from 1.6~GeV to 1.8~GeV. In order to describe the photo- and electroproduction data with $Q^2$-independent resonance masses and hadronic decay widths in the $Q^2$ range below 1.5~GeV$^2$, it was found that an $N(1720)3/2^+$ state is required in addition to the already well-established nucleon resonances. This work demonstrates that the combined studies of $pi^+pi^-p$ photo- and electroproduction data are vital for the observation of this resonance. The contributions from the $N(1720)3/2^+$ state and the already established $N(1720)3/2^+$ state with a mass of 1.745~GeV are well separated by their different hadronic decays to the $pi Delta$ and $rho p$ final states and the different $Q^2$-evolution of their photo-/electroexcitation amplitudes. The $N(1720)3/2^+$ state is the first recently established baryon resonance for which the results on the $Q^2$-evolution of the photo-/electrocouplings have become available. These results are important for the exploration of the nature of the ``missing baryon resonances.
The COMPASS collaboration has collected the currently largest data set on diffractively produced $pi^-pi^-pi^+$ final states using a negative pion beam of 190 GeV/c momentum impinging on a stationary proton target. This data set allows for a systemat ic partial-wave analysis in 100 bins of three-pion mass, $0.5 < m_{3pi} < 2.5$ GeV/c$^2$ , and in 11 bins of the reduced four-momentum transfer squared, $0.1 < t < 1.0$ (GeV/c)$^2$ . This two-dimensional analysis offers sensitivity to genuine one-step resonance production, i.e. the production of a state followed by its decay, as well as to more complex dynamical effects in nonresonant $3pi$ production. In this paper, we present detailed studies on selected $3pi$ partial waves with $J^{PC} = 0^{-+}$, $1^{++}$, $2^{-+}$, $2^{++}$, and $4^{++}$. In these waves, we observe the well-known ground-state mesons as well as a new narrow axial-vector meson $a_1(1420)$ decaying into $f_0(980) pi$. In addition, we present the results of a novel method to extract the amplitude of the $pi^-pi^+$ subsystem with $I^{G}J^{PC} = 0^+ 0^{++}$ in various partial waves from the $pi^-pi^-pi^+$ data. Evidence is found for correlation of the $f_0(980)$ and $f_0(1500)$ appearing as intermediate $pi^- pi^+$ isobars in the decay of the known $pi(1800)$ and $pi_2(1880)$.
We investigate the $D_{s}^{+} rightarrow K^{+} K^{-} pi^{+}$ decay theoretically with the final state interactions, which is based on the chiral unitary approach and takes into account the external and internal $W$-emission mechanisms at the quark le vel. Only considering three resonances contributions, the $f_0(980)$ in $S$-wave, the $bar {K}^{*}(892)^{0}$ and $phi(1020)$ in $P$-wave, one can make a good description of the recent experimental data from BESIII Collaboration, where the contribution from $S$-wave is found to be small. Besides, we also make a calculation of the corresponding branching fractions, which are consistent with the results of BESIII Collaboration and Particle Data Group.
New results on the single-differential and fully-integrated cross sections for the process $gamma_{v} p rightarrow p pi^{+} pi^{-}$ are presented. The experimental data were collected with the CLAS detector at Jefferson Laboratory. Measurements were carried out in the kinematic region of the reaction invariant mass $W$ from 1.3 to 1.825 GeV and the photon virtuality $Q^2$ from 0.4 to 1.0 GeV$^2$. The cross sections were obtained in narrow $Q^{2}$ bins (0.05 GeV$^{2}$) with the smallest statistical uncertainties achieved in double-pion electroproduction experiments to date. The results were found to be in agreement with previously available data where they overlap. A preliminary interpretation of the extracted cross sections, which was based on a phenomenological meson-baryon reaction model, revealed substantial relative contributions from nucleon resonances. The data offer promising prospects to improve knowledge on the $Q^{2}$-evolution of the electrocouplings of most resonances with masses up to $sim$1.8 GeV.
