The Fermi surface of graphite has been mapped out using de Haas van Alphen (dHvA) measurements at low temperature with in-situ rotation. For tilt angles $theta>60^{circ}$ between the magnetic field and the c-axis, the majority electron and hole dHvA periods no longer follow the $cos(theta)$ behavior demonstrating that graphite has a 3 dimensional closed Fermi surface. The Fermi surface of graphite is accurately described by highly elongated ellipsoids. A comparison with the calculated Fermi surface suggests that the SWM trigonal warping parameter $gamma_3$ is significantly larger than previously thought.
The theoretical investigation of the cluster de Haas - van Alphen (dHvA) oscillations in three-dimensional systems performed for the first time. Applying a three-dimensional oscillator model to systems with electron numbers $10< N leq 10^5$ we predic
The de Haas - van Alphen effect in two-dimensional (2D) metals is investigated at different conditions and with different shapes of Landau levels (LLs). The analytical calculations can be done when many LLs are occupied. We consider the cases of fixe
We report measurements of the de Haas-van Alphen effect for single crystals of MgB$_2$, in magnetic fields up to 32 Tesla. In contrast to our earlier work, dHvA orbits from all four sheets of the Fermi surface were detected. Our results are in good o
We report the angular dependence of three distinct de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) frequencies of the torque magnetization in the itinerant antiferromagnet CrB2 at temperatures down to 0.3K and magnetic fields up to 14T. Comparison with the calculated Ferm
Based on the recently proposed concept of effective gauge potential and magnetic field for photons, we numerically demonstrate a photonic de Haas-van Alphen effect. We show that in a dynamically modulated photonic resonator lattice exhibiting an effe
