We demonstrate that single-photon as well as biphoton revivals are possible in a new class of dynamic optical systems-the so-called Glauber-Fock oscillator lattices. In these arrays, both Bloch-like oscillations and dynamic delocalization can occur which can be described in closed form. The bunching and anti-bunching response of path-entangled photons can be pre-engineered in such coupled optical arrangements and the possibility of emulating Fermionic behavior in this family of lattices is also considered. We elucidate these effects via pertinent examples and we discuss the prospect of experimentally observing these quantum interactions.

In the classical Hong-Ou-Mandel (HOM) effect pairs of photons with bosonic (fermionic) spatial wavefunction coalesce (anti-coalesce) when mixed on a lossless beamsplitter. Here we report that the presence of dissipation in the beamsplitter allows the observation of the anti-HOM effect, where bosons anti-coalesce and fermions show coalescent-like behavior. We provide an experimental demonstration of the anti-HOM effect for both bosonic and fermionic two-photon entangled states. Beyond its fundamental significance, the anti-HOM effect offers applications in quantum information and metrology where states of entangled photons are dynamically converted.
We wish to report an experimental observation of anti-correlation from first-order incoherent classical chaotic light. We explain why the classical statistical theory does not apply and provide a quantum interpretation. In quantum theory, either corr elation or anti-correlation is a two-photon interference phenomenon, which involves the superposition of two-photon amplitudes, a nonclassical entity corresponding to different yet indistinguishable alternative ways of producing a joint-photodetection event.
We study effects of phase fluctuations on phase sensitivity and visibility of a class of robust path-entangled photon Fock states (known as mm states) as compared to the maximally path-entangled N00N states in presence of realistic phase fluctuations such as turbulence noise. Our results demonstrate that the mm states, which are more robust than the N00N state against photon loss, perform equally well when subject to such fluctuations. We show that the phase sensitivity with parity detection for both of the above states saturates the quantum Cramer-Rao bound in presence of such noise, suggesting that the parity detection presents an optimal detection strategy.
We study photon, phonon statistics and the cross-correlation between photons and phonons in a quadratically coupled optomechanical system. Photon blockade, phonon blockade and strongly anticorrelated photons and phonons can be observed in the same pa rameter regime with the effective nonlinear coupling between the optical and mechanical modes, enhanced by a strong optical driving field. Interestingly, an optimal value of the effective nonlinear coupling strength for the photon blockade is not within the strong nonlinear coupling regime. This abnormal phenomenon results from the destructive interference between different paths for two-photon excitation in the optical mode with a moderate effective nonlinear coupling strength. Further more, we show that phonon (photon) pairs and correlated photons and phonons can be generated in the strong nonlinear coupling regime with a proper detuning between the weak mechanical driving field and mechanical mode. Our results open up a way to generate anticorrelated and correlated photons and phonons, which may have important applications in quantum information processing.
Quantum imaging with undetected photons (QIUP) is a unique imaging technique that does not require the detection of the light used for illuminating the object. The technique requires a correlated pair of photons. In the existing implementations of QI UP, the imaging is enabled by the momentum correlation between the twin photons. We investigate the complementary scenario in which the imaging is instead enabled by the position correlation between the two photons. We present a general theory and show that the properties of the images obtained in these two cases are significantly distinct.
