A 6th-order, but ghost-free, gauge-invariant action is found for a 4th-rank symmetric tensor potential in a three-dimensional (3D) Minkowski spacetime. It propagates two massive modes of spin 4 that are interchanged by parity, and is thus a spin-4 analog of linearized new massive gravity. Also found are ghost-free spin-4 analogs of linearized topologically massive gravity and new topologically massive gravity, of 5th- and 8th-order respectively.
Non-equilibrium thermodynamics of Onsager and Machlup and of Hashitsume is reformulated as a gravity analog model, in which thermodynamic variables, kinetic coefficients and generalized forces form, respectively, coordinates, metric tensor and vector
We investigate the structure of equations of motion and lagrangian constraints in a general theory of massive spin 2 field interacting with external gravity. We demonstrate how consistency with the flat limit can be achieved in a number of specific s
If the graviton is the only high spin particle present during inflation, then the form of the observable tensor three-point function is fixed by de Sitter symmetry at leading order in slow-roll, regardless of the theory, to be a linear combination of
We investigate the problems of consistency and causality for the equations of motion describing massive spin two field in external gravitational and massless scalar dilaton fields in arbitrary spacetime dimension. From the field theoretical point of
A ghost free massive deformation of unimodular gravity (UG), in the spirit of {em mimetic massive gravity}, is shown to exist. This construction avoids the no-go theorem for a Fierz-Pauli type of mass term in UG by giving up on Lorentz invariance. In
