Given a simple graph G, the graph associahedron KG is a simple polytope whose face poset is based on the connected subgraphs of G. This paper defines and constructs graph associahedra in a general context, for pseudographs with loops and multiple edges, which are also allowed to be disconnected. We then consider deformations of pseudograph associahedra as their underlying graphs are altered by edge contractions and edge deletions.

Graph associahedra are generalized permutohedra arising as special cases of nestohedra and hypergraphic polytopes. The graph associahedron of a graph $G$ encodes the combinatorics of search trees on $G$, defined recursively by a root $r$ together wit h search trees on each of the connected components of $G-r$. In particular, the skeleton of the graph associahedron is the rotation graph of those search trees. We investigate the diameter of graph associahedra as a function of some graph parameters. It is known that the diameter of the associahedra of paths of length $n$, the classical associahedra, is $2n-6$ for a large enough $n$. We give a tight bound of $Theta(m)$ on the diameter of trivially perfect graph associahedra on $m$ edges. We consider the maximum diameter of associahedra of graphs on $n$ vertices and of given tree-depth, treewidth, or pathwidth, and give lower and upper bounds as a function of these parameters. Finally, we prove that the maximum diameter of associahedra of graphs of pathwidth two is $Theta (nlog n)$.

We show that J_n, the Stanley-Reisner ideal of the n-cycle, has a free resolution supported on the (n-3)-dimensional simplicial associahedron A_n. This resolution is not minimal for n > 5; in this case the Betti numbers of J_n are strictly smaller th an the f-vector of A_n. We show that in fact the Betti numbers of J_n are in bijection with the number of standard Young tableaux of shape (d+1, 2, 1^{n-d-3}). This complements the fact that the number of (d-1)-dimensional faces of A_n are given by the number of standard Young tableaux of (super)shape (d+1, d+1, 1^{n-d-3}); a bijective proof of this result was first provided by Stanley. An application of discrete Morse theory yields a cellular resolution of J_n that we show is minimal at the first syzygy. We furthermore exhibit a simple involution on the set of associahedron tableaux with fixed points given by the Betti tableaux, suggesting a Morse matching and in particular a poset structure on these objects.
The goal of this article is to develop BV (Batalin-Vilkovisky) formalism in the $p$-adic Dwork theory. Based on this formalism, we explicitly construct a $p$-adic dGBV algebra (differential Gerstenhaber-Batalin-Vilkovisky algebra) for a smooth projec tive complete intersection variety $X$ over a finite field, whose cohomology gives the $p$-adic Dwork cohomology of $X$, and its cochain endomorphism (the $p$-adic Dwork Frobenius operator) which encodes the information of the zeta function $X$. As a consequence, we give a modern deformation theoretic interpretation of Dworks theory of the zeta function of $X$ and derive a formula for the $p$-adic Dwork Frobenius operator in terms of homotopy Lie morphisms and the Bell polynomials.
This paper is a fundamental study of comodules and contramodules over a comonoid in a closed monoidal category. We study both algebraic and homotopical aspects of them. Algebraically, we enrich the comodule and contramodule categories over the origin al category, construct enriched functors between them and enriched adjunctions between the functors. Homotopically, for simplicial sets and topological spaces, we investigate the categories of comodules and contramodules and the relations between them.

A quandle is a set that has a binary operation satisfying three conditions corresponding to the Reidemeister moves. Homology theories of quandles have been developed in a way similar to group homology, and have been applied to knots and knotted surfa ces. In this paper, a homology theory is defined that unifies group and quandle homology theories. A quandle that is a union of groups with the operation restricting to conjugation on each group component is called a multiple conjugation quandle (MCQ, defined rigorously within). In this definition, compatibilities between the group and quandle operations are imposed which are motivated by considerations on colorings of handlebody-links. A homology theory defined here for MCQs take into consideration both group and quandle operations, as well as their compatibility. The first homology group is characterized, and the notion of extensions by $2$-cocycles is provided. Degenerate subcomplexes are defined in relation to simplicial decompositions of prismatic (products of simplices) complexes and group inverses. Cocycle invariants are also defined for handlebody-links.
