We present evidence for the first observation of electromagnetically bound $pi^pm K^mp$-pairs ($pi K$-atoms) with the DIRAC experiment at the CERN-PS. The $pi K$-atoms are produced by the 24 GeV/c proton beam in a thin Pt-target and the $pi^pm$ and $K^mp$-mesons from the atom dissociation are analyzed in a two-arm magnetic spectrometer. The observed enhancement at low relative momentum corresponds to the production of 173 $pm$ 54 $pi K$-atoms. The mean life of $pi K$-atoms is related to the s-wave $pi K$-scattering lengths, the measurement of which is the goal of the experiment. From these first data we derive a lower limit for the mean life of 0.8 fs at 90% confidence level.

We report a study of the suppressed decay B^- -> DK^-, D -> K^+pi^-pi^0, where D denotes either a D^0 or a bar{D}^0 meson. The decay is sensitive to the CP-violating parameter phi_3. Using a data sample of 772 x 10^6 Bbar{B} pairs collected at the Up silon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector, we measure the ratio of branching fractions of the above suppressed decay to the favored decay B^- -> DK^-, D -> K^-pi^+pi^0. Our result is R_{DK} = [1.98 +/- 0.62(stat.) +/- 0.24(syst.)] x 10^{-2}, which indicates the first evidence of the signal for this suppressed decay with a significance of 3.2 standard deviations. We measure the direct CP asymmetry between the suppressed B^- and B^+ decays to be A_{DK} = 0.41 +/- 0.30 (stat.) +/- 0.05 (syst.). We also report measurements for the analogous quantities R_{Dpi} and A_{Dpi} for the decay B^- -> Dpi^-, D -> K^+pi^-pi^0.
The suppressed decay chain B- -> DK-, D -> K+pi-, where D indicates a anti-D0 or D0 state, provides important information on the CP-violating angle phi_3. We measure the ratio R_{DK} of the decay rates to the favored mode B- -> DK-, D -> K-pi+ to be R_{DK} = [1.63^{+0.44}_{-0.41}(stat)^{+0.07}_{-0.13}(syst)] x 10^{-2}, which indicates the first evidence of the signal with a significance of 4.1sigma. We also measure the asymmetry A_{DK} between the charge-conjugate decays to be A_{DK} = -0.39^{+0.26}_{-0.28}(stat)^{+0.04}_{-0.03}(syst). The results are based on the full 772 x 10^6 B anti-B pair data sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector.

Additional evidence for the rare kaon decay K+ to pi+ neutrino-antineutrino has been found in a new data set with comparable sensitivity to the previously reported result. One new event was observed in the pion momentum region examined, 211<P<229 MeV /c, bringing the total for the combined data set to two. Including all data taken, the backgrounds were estimated to contribute 0.15 pm 0.05 events. The branching ratio is B=1.57^{+1.75}_{-0.82} 10^{-10}.
Using $2.93 rm fb^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, the first observation of the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay $D^+to K^+pi^+pi^-pi^0$ is reported. After removing decays tha t contain narrow intermediate resonances, including $D^+to K^+eta$, $D^+to K^+omega$, and $D^+to K^+phi$, the branching fraction of the decay $D^+to K^+pi^+pi^-pi^0$ is measured to be $(1.13 pm 0.08_{rm stat} pm 0.03_{rm syst})times 10^{-3}$. The ratio of branching fractions of $D^+to K^+pi^+pi^-pi^0$ over $D^+to K^-pi^+pi^+pi^0$ is found to be $(1.81pm0.15)$%, which corresponds to $(6.28pm0.52)tan^4theta_C$, where $theta_C$ is the Cabibbo mixing angle. This ratio is significantly larger than the corresponding ratios for other doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decays. The asymmetry of the branching fractions of charge-conjugated decays $D^pmto K^pmpi^pmpi^mppi^0$ is also determined, and no evidence of $CP$ violation is found. In addition, the first evidence of the $D^+to K^+omega$ decay, with a statistical significance of 3.3$sigma$, is presented and its decay branching fraction is determined to be $({5.7^{+2.5}_{-2.1}}_{rm stat}pm0.2_{rm syst})times10^{-5}$.
We study the processes $e^+ e^-to 2(pi^+pi^-)pi^0gamma$, $2(pi^+pi^-)etagamma$, $K^+ K^-pi^+pi^-pi^0gamma$ and $K^+ K^-pi^+pi^-etagamma$ with the hard photon radiated from the initial state. About 20000, 4300, 5500 and 375 fully reconstructed events, respectively, are selected from 232 fb$^{-1}$ of BaBar data. The invariant mass of the hadronic final state defines the effective $e^+ e^-$ center-of-mass energy, so that the obtained cross sections from the threshold to about 5 GeV can be compared with corresponding direct epem measurements, currently available only for the $etapi^+pi^-$ and $omegapi^+pi^-$ submodes of the $e^+ e^-to 2(pi^+pi^-)pi^0$ channel. Studying the structure of these events, we find contributions from a number of intermediate states, and we extract their cross sections where possible. In particular, we isolate the contribution from $e^+ e^-toomega(782)pi^+pi^-$ and study the $omega(1420)$ and $omega(1650)$ resonances. In the charmonium region, we observe the $J/psi$ in all these final states and several intermediate states, as well as the $psi(2S)$ in some modes, and we measure the corresponding branching fractions.
