We compute the finite renormalisation of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix induced by gluino-squark diagrams in the MSSM with non-minimal sources of flavour violation. Subsequently we derive bounds on the flavour-off-diagonal elements of the squark mass matrices by requiring that the radiative corrections to the CKM elements do not exceed the experimental values. Our constraints on the associated dimensionless quantities delta^{d LR}_{ij}, j>i, are stronger than the bounds from flavour-changing neutral current (FCNC) processes if gluino and squarks are heavier than 500 GeV. Our bound on |delta^{u LR}_{12}| is stronger than the FCNC bound from D-D-bar mixing for superpartner masses above 900 GeV. We further find a useful bound on |delta_{13}^{u LR}|, for which no FCNC constraint is known. Our results imply that it is still possible to generate all observed flavour violation from the soft supersymmetry-breaking terms without conflicting with present-day data on FCNC processes. We suggest that a flavour symmetry renders the Yukawa sector flavour-diagonal and the trilinear supersymmetry-breaking terms are the spurion fields breaking this flavour symmetry. We further derive the dominant supersymmetric radiative corrections to the couplings of charged Higgs bosons and charginos to quarks and squarks.

Single top quark production cross sections at hadron colliders are traditionally used to extract the modulus of the $V_{tb}$ element of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix under the following assumption: $|V_{tb}| gg |V_{td}|, |V_{ts}|$. For the fir st time, direct limits on $|V_{td}|$ and $|V_{ts}|$ are obtained using experimental data without the assumption of the unitarity of the CKM matrix. Limits on the $|V_{td}|$, $|V_{ts}|$ and $|V_{tb}|$ are extracted from differential measurements of single top quark cross sections in $t$-channel as a function of the rapidity and transverse momentum of the top quark and the light jet recoiling against the top quark. We have shown that the pseudorapidity of the forward jet in the single top production is one of the most powerful observables for discriminating between the $|V_{td}|$ and $|V_{tb}|$ events. We perform a global fit of top quark related CKM elements to experimental data from the LHC Runs I and II and Tevatron. Experimental data include inclusive and differential single top cross sections in $t$-channel, inclusive tW production cross section, and top quark branching ratio to b quark and W boson. We present bounds on $|V_{tb}|$, $|V_{ts}|$ and $|V_{td}|$ using current data and project the results for future LHC data sets corresponding to luminosities of 300 and 3000 fb.
This report contains the results of the Workshop on the CKM Unitarity Triangle, held at CERN on 13-16 February 2002 to study the determination of the CKM matrix from the available data of K, D, and B physics. This is a coherent document with chapters covering the determination of CKM elements from tree level decays and K and B meson mixing and the global fits of the unitarity triangle parameters. The impact of future measurements is also discussed.
This letter summarises the status of the global fit of the CKM parameters within the Standard Model performed by the CKMfitter group. Special attention is paid to the inputs for the CKM angles $alpha$ and $gamma$ and the status of $B_stomumu$ and $B_ dto mumu$ decays. We illustrate the current situation for other unitarity triangles. We also discuss the constraints on generic $Delta F=2$ New Physics. All results have been obtained with the CKMfitter analysis package, featuring the frequentist statistical approach and using Rfit to handle theoretical uncertainties.

We identified a set of four rephasing invariant parameters of the CKM matrix. They are found to exhibit hierarchies in powers of $lambda^2$, from $lambda^2$ to $lambda^8$. It is shown that, at the present level of accuracy, only the first three param eters are needed to fit all available data on flavor physics.

The quark-lepton complementarity (QLC) is very suggestive in understanding possible relations between quark and lepton mixing matrices. We explore the QLC relations in all the possible angle-phase parametrizations and point out that they can approxim ately hold in five parametrizations. Furthermore, the vanishing of the smallest mixing angles in the CKM and PMNS matrices can make sure that the QLC relations exactly hold in those five parametrizations. Finally, the sensitivity of the QLC relations to radiative corrections is also discussed.
