In this paper we analyse the structure of the BRST charge of nonlinear superalgebras. We consider quadratic non-linear superalgebras where a commutator (in terms of (super) Poisson brackets) of the generators is a quadratic polynomial of the generators. We find the explicit form of the BRST charge up to cubic order in Faddeev-Popov ghost fields for arbitrary quadratic nonlinear superalgebras. We point out the existence of constraints on structure constants of the superalgebra when the nilpotent BRST charge is quadratic in Faddeev-Popov ghost fields. The general results are illustrated by simple examples of superalgebras.

We study the properties of nonlinear superalgebras $mathcal{A}$ and algebras $mathcal{A}_b$ arising from a one-to-one correspondence between the sets of relations that extract AdS-group irreducible representations $D(E_0,s_1,s_2)$ in AdS$_d$-spaces a nd the sets of operators that form $mathcal{A}$ and $mathcal{A}_b$, respectively, for fermionic, $s_i=n_i+{1/2}$, and bosonic, $s_i=n_i$, $n_i in mathbb{N}_0$, $i=1,2$, HS fields characterized by a Young tableaux with two rows. We consider a method of constructing the Verma modules $V_mathcal{A}$, $V_{mathcal{A}_b}$ for $mathcal{A}$, $mathcal{A}_b$ and establish a possibility of their Fock-space realizations in terms of formal power series in oscillator operators which serve to realize an additive conversion of the above (super)algebra ($mathcal{A}$) $mathcal{A}_b$, containing a set of 2nd-class constraints, into a converted (super)algebra $mathcal{A}_{b{}c}$ = $mathcal{A}_{b}$ + $mathcal{A}_b$ ($mathcal{A}_c$ = $mathcal{A}$ + $mathcal{A}$), containing a set of 1st-class constraints only. For the algebra $mathcal{A}_{b{}c}$, we construct an exact nilpotent BFV--BRST operator $Q$ having nonvanishing terms of 3rd degree in the powers of ghost coordinates and use $Q$ to construct a gauge-invariant Lagrangian formulation (LF) for HS fields with a given mass $m$ (energy $E_0(m)$) and generalized spin $mathbf{s}$=$(s_1,s_2)$. LFs with off-shell algebraic constraints are examined as well.
We point out the existence of a non-perturbative exact nilpotent BRST symmetry for the Gribov-Zwanziger action in the Landau gauge. We then put forward a manifestly BRST invariant resolution of the Gribov gauge fixing ambiguity in the linear covariant gauge.
A general method of the BRST--anti-BRST symmetric conversion of second-class constraints is presented. It yields a pair of commuting and nilpotent BRST-type charges that can be naturally regarded as BRST and anti-BRST ones. Interchanging the BRST and anti-BRST generators corresponds to a symmetry between the original second-class constraints and the conversion variables, which enter the formalism on equal footing.
In order to construct a gauge invariant two-point function in a Yang-Mills theory, we propose the use of the all-order gauge invariant transverse configurations A^h. Such configurations can be obtained through the minimization of the functional A^2_{ min} along the gauge orbit within the BRST invariant formulation of the Gribov-Zwanziger framework recently put forward in [1,2] for the class of the linear covariant gauges. This correlator turns out to provide a characterization of non-perturbative aspects of the theory in a BRST invariant and gauge parameter independent way. In particular, it turns out that the poles of <A^h A^h> are the same as those of the transverse part of the gluon propagator, which are also formally shown to be independent of the gauge parameter entering the gauge condition through the Nielsen identities. The latter follow from the new exact BRST invariant formulation introduced before. Moreover, the correlator <A^h A^h> enables us to attach a BRST invariant meaning to the possible positivity violation of the corresponding temporal Schwinger correlator, giving thus for the first time a consistent, gauge parameter independent, setup to adopt the positivity violation of <A^h A^h> as a signature for gluon confinement. Finally, in the context of gauge theories supplemented with a fundamental Higgs field, we use <A^h A^h> to probe the pole structure of the massive gauge boson in a gauge invariant fashion.
We present the BRST cohomologies of a class of constraint (super) Lie algebras as detour complexes. By giving physical interpretations to the components of detour complexes as gauge invariances, Bianchi identities and equations of motion we obtain a large class of new gauge theories. The pivotal new machinery is a treatment of the ghost Hilbert space designed to manifest the detour structure. Along with general results, we give details for three of these theories which correspond to gauge invariant spinning particle models of totally symmetric, antisymmetric and Kahler antisymmetric forms. In particular, we give details of our recent announcement of a (p,q)-form Kahler electromagnetism. We also discuss how our results generalize to other special geometries.
