We study the explicit relation between violation of Bell inequalities and bipartite distillability of multi-qubit states. It has been shown that even though for $Nge 8$ there exist $N$-qubit bound entangled states which violates a Bell inequality [Phys. Rev. Lett. {bf 87}, 230402 (2001)], for all the states violating the inequality there exists at least one splitting of the parties into two groups such that pure-state entanglement can be distilled [Phys. Rev. Lett. {bf 88}, 027901 (2002)]. We here prove that for all $N$-qubit states violating the inequality the number of distillable bipartite splits increases exponentially with $N$, and hence the probability that a randomly chosen bipartite split is distillable approaches one exponentially with $N$, as $N$ tends to infinity. We also show that there exists at least one $N$-qubit bound entangled state violating the inequality if and only if $Nge 6$.

Entangled coherent states for multiple bosonic modes, also referred to as multimode cat states, not only are of fundamental interest, but also have practical applications. The nonclassical correlation among these modes is well characterized by the vi olation of the Mermin-Klyshko inequality. We here study Mermin-Klyshko inequality violations for such multi-mode entangled states with rotated quantum-number parity operators. Our results show that the Mermin-Klyshko signal obtained with these operators can approach the maximal value even when the average quantum number in each mode is only 1, and the inequality violation exponentially increases with the number of entangled modes. The correlations among the rotated parities of the entangled bosonic modes are in distinct contrast with those among the displaced parities, with which a nearly maximal Mermin-Klyshko inequality violation requires the size of the cat state to be increased by about 15 times.
We introduce the class of Genuinely Local Operation and Shared Randomness (LOSR) Multipartite Nonlocal correlations, that is, correlations between N parties that cannot be obtained from unlimited shared randomness supplemented by any composition of ( N-1)-shared causal Generalized-Probabilistic-Theory (GPT) resources. We then show that noisy N-partite GHZ quantum states as well as the 3-partite W quantum state can produce such correlations. This proves, if the operational predictions of quantum theory are correct, that Natures nonlocality must be boundlessly multipartite in any causal GPT. We develop a computational method which certifies that a noisy N=3 GHZ quantum state with fidelity 85 percent satisfies this property, making an experimental demonstration of our results within reach. We motivate our definition and contrast it with preexisting notions of genuine multipartite nonlocality. This work extends a more compact parallel letter on the same subject and provides all the required technical proofs.
We introduce the multipartite collision model, defined in terms of elementary interactions between subsystems and ancillae, and show that it can simulate the Markovian dynamics of any multipartite open quantum system. We develop a method to estimate an analytical error bound for any repeated interactions model, and we use it to prove that the error of our scheme displays an optimal scaling. Finally, we provide a simple decomposition of the multipartite collision model into elementary quantum gates, and show that it is efficiently simulable on a quantum computer according to the dissipative quantum Church-Turing theorem, i.e. it requires a polynomial number of resources.
Any bipartite entanglement witness $W$ can be written as $W=c_{sigma}I-sigma$, where $sigma$ is a quantum state, $I$ is the identity matrix, and $c_{sigma}$ is a non-negative number. We present a general method to extend the given entanglement witnes s to multipartite cases via purification, partial purification, and direct tensor of the quantum state $sigma$. Our methods extend $sigma$ but leave the parameter $c_{sigma}$ untouched. This is very valuable since the parameter is generally not easy to compute.

Contextuality lays at the heart of quantum mechanics. In the prevailing opinion it is considered as a signature of quantumness that classical theories lack. However, this assertion is only partially justified. Although contextuality is certainly true of quantum mechanics, it cannot be taken by itself as discriminating against classical theories. Here we consider a representative example of contextual behaviour, the so-called Mermin-Peres square, and present a discrete toy model of a bipartite system which reproduces the pattern of quantum predictions that leads to contradiction with the assumption of non-contextuality. This illustrates that quantum-like contextual effects have their analogues within classical models with epistemic constraints such as limited information gain and measurement disturbance.
