The decay bar B -> bar K* (-> bar K pi) l+ l- offers great opportunities to explore the physics at and above the electroweak scale by means of an angular analysis. We investigate the physics potential of the seven CP asymmetries plus the asymmetry in the rate, working at low dilepton mass using QCD factorization at next-to leading order (NLO). The b ->s CP asymmetries are doubly Cabibbo-suppressed lesssim 1 % in the Standard Model and its extensions where the CKM matrix is the only source of CP violation. Three CP asymmetries are T-odd, and can be O(1) in the presence of non-standard CP violation. The T-even asymmetries can reach O(0.1), limited by the small strong phases in the large recoil region. We furthermore point out an easy way to measure CP phases from time-integrated, untagged bar B_d, B_d -> K* (-> K0 pi0) l+ l- and bar B_s,B_s -> phi (-> K+ K-) l+ l- decays. Analyses of these CP asymmetries can rule out, or further support the minimal description of CP violation through the CKM mechanism. Experimental studies are promising for (super) flavor factories and at hadron colliders.

An angular analysis of the decay $B_s^0 rightarrow K^{*0}bar{K}{}^{*0}$ is performed using $pp$ collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $1.0$ ${fb}^{-1}$ collected by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy $sqrt{s} = 7$ TeV. A combined angular and mass analysis separates six helicity amplitudes and allows the measurement of the longitudinal polarisation fraction $f_L = 0.201 pm 0.057 {(stat.)} pm 0.040{(syst.)}$ for the $B_s^0 rightarrow K^*(892)^0 bar{K}{}^*(892)^0$ decay. A large scalar contribution from the $K^{*}_{0}(1430)$ and $K^{*}_{0}(800)$ resonances is found, allowing the determination of additional $CP$ asymmetries. Triple product and direct $CP$ asymmetries are determined to be compatible with the Standard Model expectations. The branching fraction $mathcal{B}(B_s^0 rightarrow K^*(892)^0 bar{K}{}^*(892)^0)$ is measured to be $(10.8 pm 2.1 { rm (stat.)} pm 1.4 { rm (syst.)} pm 0.6 (f_d/f_s) ) times 10^{-6}$.
Recently the branching ratios for $B^+to K^+bar K^0$ and $B^0 to K^0 bar K^0$ have been measured. Data indicate that the annihilation amplitudes in these decays are not zero. A non-zero annihilation amplitude plays an important role in CP violation f or $B^+to pi^+ K^0, K^+ bar K^0$. Using the measured branching ratios for these decays, we show that there is an absolute bound of 5% for the size of CP asymmetry in $B^+to pi^+ K^0$ from a relation between the amplitudes of these decays. The size of CP asymmetry in $B^+ to K^+bar K^0$ can, however, be as large as 90%. Future experimental data will test these predictions.

We present results from a search for the flavor-changing neutral current decays $Bto Kell^+ell^-$ and $Bto K^*ell^+ell^-$, where $ell^+ell^-$ is either an $e^+e^-$ or $mu^+mu^-$ pair. The data sample comprises $22.7times 10^6$ $Upsilon(4S)to Bbar B$ decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II $B$ Factory. We obtain the 90% C.L. upper limits ${mathcal B}(Bto Kell^+ell^-)< 0.50times 10^{-6}$ and ${mathcal B}(Bto K^*ell^+ell^-)<2.9times 10^{-6}$, close to Standard Model predictions for these branching fractions. We have also obtained limits on the lepton-family-violating decays $Bto Ke^{pm}mu^{mp}$ and $Bto K^{*}e^{pm}mu^{mp}$.
The resonant substructure of $B_s^0 rightarrow bar{D}^0 K^- pi^+$ decays is studied with the Dalitz plot analysis technique. The study is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3.0,{rm fb}^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision data re corded by LHCb. A structure at $m(bar{D}^0 K^-) approx 2.86 {rm GeV}/c^2$ is found to be an admixture of spin-1 and spin-3 resonances. The masses and widths of these states and of the $D^*_{s2}(2573)^-$ meson are measured, as are the complex amplitudes and fit fractions for all the $bar{D}^0 K^-$ and $K^-pi^+$ components included in the amplitude model. In addition, the $D^*_{s2}(2573)^-$ resonance is confirmed to be spin-2.

We analyse the semileptonic decay D+ -> K- pi+ l+ nu(l) using an effective Lagrangian developed previously to describe the decays D -> P l nu(l) and D -> V l nu(l). Light vector mesons are included in the model which combines the heavy quark effectiv e Lagrangian and chiral perturbation theory approach. The nonresonant and resonant contributions are compared. With no new parameters the model correctly reproduces the measured ratio Gamma(nres)/Gamma(nres + res). We also present useful nonresonant decay distributions. Finally, a similar model, but with a modified current which satisfies the soft pion theorems at the expense of introducing another parameter, is analyzed and the results of the models are compared.
