We study the long wavelength shear modes (Tkachenko waves) of triangular lattices of singly quantized vortices in neutron star interiors taking into account the mutual friction between the superfluid and the normal fluid and the shear viscosity of the normal fluid. The set of Tkachenko modes that propagate in the plane orthogonal to the spin vector are weakly damped if the coupling between the superfluid and normal fluid is small. In strong coupling, their oscillation frequencies are lower and are undamped for small and moderate shear viscosities. The periods of these modes are consistent with the observed ~100-1000 day variations in spin of PSR 1828-11.
gamma Draconis, a K5III star, showed radial velocity (RV) variations consistent with a 10.7 Jupiter mass planet from 2003-2011. After 2011, the periodic signal decayed, then reappeared with a phase shift. Hatzes et al. (2018) suggested that gamma Dra
In this paper we explore the evolution of a PWN while the pulsar is spinning down. An MHD approach is used to simulate the evolution of a composite remnant. Particular attention is given to the adiabatic loss rate and evolution of the nebular field s
Solar magnetic activity shows both smooth secular changes, such as the Grand Modern Maximum, and quite abrupt drops that are denoted as Grand Minima. Direct numerical simulations (DNS) of convection driven dynamos offer one way of examining the mecha
Excited states in 13O were investigated using inelastic scattering of an E/A=69.5-MeV 13O beam off of a 9Be target. The excited states were identified in the invariant-mass spectra of the decay products. Both single proton and sequential two-proton d
Thermal radiation of photons and dileptons from hadronic matter plays an essential role in understanding electromagnetic emission spectra in high-energy heavy-ion collisions. In particular, baryons and anti-baryons have been found to be strong cataly
