The inclusive production cross sections of the charmed mesons D^0, D^+, D_s^+ and D^{*+} have been measured in interactions of 920 GeV protons on C, Ti, and W targets with the HERA-B detector at the HERA storage ring. Differential cross sections as a function of transverse momentum and Feynmans x variable are given for the central rapidity region and for transverse momenta up to $pT=3.5$ GeV/$c$. The atomic mass number dependence and the leading to non-leading particle production asymmetries are presented as well.

The $CP$ asymmetry in $B^-to D_s^-D^0$ and $B^-to D^-D^0$ decays is measured using LHCb data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb$^{-1}$, collected in $pp$ collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The results are $A^{CP}(B ^-to D_s^-D^0)=(-0.4pm 0.5pm 0.5)%$ and $A^{CP}(B^-to D^-D^0)=( 2.3pm 2.7pm 0.4)%$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. This is the first measurement of $A^{CP}(B^-to D_s^-D^0)$ and the most precise determination of $A^{CP}(B^-to D^-D^0)$. Neither result shows evidence of $CP$ violation.
First observations and measurements of the branching fractions of the $bar{B}_s^0to D^+D^-$, $bar{B}_s^0to D_s^+D^-$ and $bar{B}_s^0to D^0bar{D}^0$ decays are presented using 1.0 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected by the LHCb experiment. These branching fra ctions are normalized to those of $bar{B}^0to D^+D^-$, $B^0to D_s^+D^-$ and $B^-to D^0D_s^-$, respectively. An excess of events consistent with the decay $bar{B}^0to D^0bar{D}^0$ is also seen, and its branching fraction is measured relative to that of $B^-to D^0D_s^-$. Improved measurements of the branching fractions ${cal{B}}(bar{B}_s^0to D_s^+D_s^-)$ and ${cal{B}}(B^-to D^0D_s^-)$ are reported, each relative to ${cal{B}}(B^0to D_s^+D^-)$. The ratios of branching fractions are {-0.2in} {center} {align*} {{cal{B}}(bar{B}_s^0to D^+D^-)over {cal{B}}(bar{B}^0to D^+D^-)} &= 1.08pm 0.20pm0.10, {{cal{B}}(bar{B}_s^0to D_s^+D^-)over {cal{B}}(B^0to D_s^+D^-)} &= 0.050pm 0.008pm0.004, {{cal{B}}(bar{B}_s^0to D^0bar{D}^0)over {cal{B}}(B^-to D^0D_s^-)} &= 0.019pm 0.003pm0.003, {{cal{B}}(bar{B}^0to D^0bar{D}^0)over {cal{B}}(B^-to D^0D_s^-)} &= 0.0014pm 0.0006pm0.0002,{{cal{B}}(bar{B}_s^0to D_s^+D_s^-)over {cal{B}}(B^0to D_s^+D^-)} &= 0.56pm 0.03pm0.04, {{cal{B}}(B^-to D^0D_s^-)over {cal{B}}(B^0to D_s^+D^-)} &= 1.22pm 0.02pm0.07, {align*} {center} oindent where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively.
We report measurements of charmed-hadron ($D^{0}$, $D^{*}$) production cross sections at mid-rapidity in $p$ + $p$ collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 200 GeV by the STAR experiment. Charmed hadrons were reconstructed via the hadronic decays $D^ {0}rightarrow K^{-}pi^{+}$, $D^{*+}rightarrow D^{0}pi^{+}rightarrow K^{-}pi^{+}pi^{+}$ and their charge conjugates, covering the $p_T$ range of 0.6$-$2.0 GeV/$c$ and 2.0$-$6.0 GeV/$c$ for $D^{0}$ and $D^{*+}$, respectively. From this analysis, the charm-pair production cross section at mid-rapidity is $dsigma/dy|_{y=0}^{cbar{c}}$ = 170 $pm$ 45 (stat.) $^{+38}_{-59}$ (sys.) $mu$b. The extracted charm-pair cross section is compared to perturbative QCD calculations. The transverse momentum differential cross section is found to be consistent with the upper bound of a Fixed-Order Next-to-Leading Logarithm calculation.
Charm physics has played all along a central role in particle physics, however the level of attention on it has tremendously increased in the last years because of the observation of fast $D^0-bar{D}^0$ flavour oscillations and because of very recent observed hints of CP violation. While in the past these would have been unambiguously interpreted as signs of New Physics, the revisitation of theoretical expectations, prompted by the latest experimental measurements, makes the picture not clear. This brief review covers the current status of CP-violating measurements in the $D^0-bar{D}^0$ system, both on the experimental and theoretical side.
We report a measurement of the parameter $y_{CP}$ in $ensuremath{D^0}xspace-ensuremath{overline{D}^{0}}xspace$ oscillations performed by taking advantage of quantum coherence between pairs of $ensuremath{D^0}xspace ensuremath{overline{D}^{0}}xspace$ mesons produced in $e^+e^-$ annihilations near threshold. In this work, doubly-tagged $ensuremath{D^0}xspace ensuremath{overline{D}^{0}}xspace$ events, where one $D$ decays to a $CP$ eigenstate and the other $D$ decays in a semileptonic mode, are reconstructed using a data sample of 2.92,fb$^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy of $sqrt{s}$ = 3.773,GeV. We obtain $y_{CP} = (-2.0pm1.3pm0.7)%$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This result is compatible with the current world average.
